Events brighten holiday season
I f you already have the win­
tertime blues, the Community
Center is offering a variety o f
options to help celebrate the
holidays this December.
In addition to scheduled fam­
ily events, the center will host
daily events for children during
their time o ff from school for
the holidays.
Starring on Dec. 22, children
can participate in activities for
the remainder o f the school
break.
For families, the center will
h o st the follow in g events
throughout the month:
the perfect gifts? The annual
Christmas bazaar will feature
plenty o f handcrafted items for
sale. The bazaar will begin at 8
a.m. and end at 4 p.m. Applica­
tions are still being taken for
vendors.
Tree lighting—Dec. 7
People throughout the com­
munity can come together to
celebrate the spirit o f Christmas
at the Community Center on
Dec. 14. The program will be­
gin at 7 p.m.
It’s time to get in the Christ­
mas spirit, and the community
can join in by attending the first
event during the holiday season.
T h e Community Center will
sponsor the annual tree lighting,
car light parade and barbeque
tonight. Activities will begin at
6 p.m.

Ready to start shopping for
Ornament Making—Dec. 12
Families who need som e­
thing extra to trim their tree can
come to a family ornament mak­
ing session at the Community
Center. The event begins at 6
p.m.

dian Nite Out. The event will

Last-Minute Christmas Bazaar
offers a solution for finding the
final few gifts. The bazaar will
begin at 10 a.m. and end at 6
p.m. in the Community Center
social hall.
The Confederated Tribes
o f Warm Springs Finance
Department has received the
Certificate o f Excellence'in
Financial Reporting Award
from the Governm ent F i­
nance Officers Association
o f the U.S. and Canada.
The award is a significant
achievement, and represents
the highest award in govern­
ment financial reporting. The
Workshops will teach girls
how to make shawls, crowns and
other traditional materials in or­
der to prepare them for the Jun­
ior Miss Warm Springs pageant
in January. Each workshop will
begin at noon and last until 1
p.m.

mined to have met the high stan­
dards o f reporting.
The annual report demon­
strated a constructive “spirit o f
full disclosure,” clearly commu­
nicating the financial story o f
die tribes, and motivating poten­
tial users and user groups to

the finance officers associa­
tion.
The association is a non­
profit association serving
approximately 16,000 gov­
ernm ent finance p ro fe s ­
sionals. Their officers are in
Chicago and Washington,
D.C.
