The Back to School
Barbeque and school supply
giveaway is from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
on Thursday August 31 on the
grassy area behind the Warm
Springs Family Resource Cen­
ter.
This is a chance for 509-J
staff and Warm Springs fami­
lies to meet and greet before
the start of another great school
year.
For the barbeque, the Edu­
cation Committee suggests you
bring a chair or blanket.

Children climbed rock walls at the Community Center
for the Kids’ Jamboree Day on August 8. The event
featured a variety of kid-friendly activities and inflatable
play structures.
Fall sports meeting
There will be a fall sports meeting in the Warm Springs
Elementary Gym on Thursday, August 31 at 6 p.m.
The meeting is for Jefferson County Middle School stu­
dents, grades 6-8.
Another fall sports meeting will be held in the Jefferson
County Middle School Commons at 6 p.m. on September 5.
Free sports physicals are being offered on September 11
at the United Methodist Church at 5:30 p.m. Students are
asked to come dressed in shorts; girls are asked to wear sports
bras.
School supply lists
School begins for first through ninth grades on Thursday, Sep­
tember 7. For gradese 10-12, the first day back is September 8.
School supply lists are as follows:
Kindergarten
2 boxes of crayons, basic 16, standard size (not chubby); 10
pencils, size #2; 2 four-ounce bottles of white liquid glue; 2 glue
sticks (small, solid); 1 large box of tissues; 1 package of baby-
wipes (80-150 counts); no permanent markers.
First and second grade
1 box of 16 small crayons; pencils, size #2; 1 eraser; 1 pair of
metal scissors; 2 four-ounce bottles of white glue; 2 glue sticks
(small, solid); 1 box of tissues; no permanent markers.
Third grade
1 box of 16 or 24 small crayons; pencils, size #2; pink pearl
erasers; 1 pair of sharp-point scissors; four-ounce botdes of white
glue; 2 glue sticks (small, solid); 1 large box of tissues; 1 12-inch
ruler (inches and centimeters); no permanent markers.
In anticipation for boarding
school physicals and sports
physicals requests, the Warm
Springs Health and Wellness
Center has organized twro physi­
cal clinics. Dates and times are:
This Thursday, August 17
from 4-7 p.m.
Monday, September 11 from
4-7 p.m.
The Madras medical group
is also having a physical clinic on
the same dates in Madras.
For boarding school
physicals please call 553-2610,
the direct appointment line for
your future appointment for this
physical clinic.
Boarding schools will accept
an “appointment letter” to be
sent with an application to verify
a phyiscal examination will be
complete. The appointment let­
ter can be printed by the medi­
cal receptionist after making the
appointment.
The medical receptionist has
an updated list of all students
who are due for a sports physi­
cal this year. Again, call the 553-
2610, the direct appointment
line to find out if you are due.
Students are encouraged to
bring their physical forms and
a parent. Immunizations re­
ceived outside this facility will
need to be brought to the clinic
to update your medical records
as immunizations will be up­
dated at the time of appoint­
ment.

Please note that some classes may require additional materials.
If so, students will be notified during the first week of school by
their classroom teacher. Some school supplies will need to be
replenished throughout the school year.
First day for kindergarteners is determined by a conference
with parents beginning September 7.
