Fire and Safety welcomes new employee
Copeland is currendy living in
Powell Butte. He graduated in
the class of 1994 from the
home of the Panthers.
Following his high school
years, Copeland enlisted in the
Navy for four and a half years,
assigned to the “fast attack”
submarine.
He traveled during his tour
to places like Italy, Greece, Ice
land, South Africa, Egypt, the
North Polar Ice Cap and much
more.
After touring with the Navy,
Copeland enrolled in Central
Oregon Community College
from 2000 to 2005, majoring in
structural fire science and medi
cal programs to obtain his para-

ment has new employees, who
were recently hired as part-time
firefighter/EM T’s. You will
meet a new firefighter/EMT
in each issue of the Spilyay.

hire Victor Copeland,

He was born and raised with

and building a good relationship
with the community of Warm

Springs, as well as being able to
provide a higher level of care
with saving lives and protecting
life and property.
For the younger generation,
Copeland says to work hard at
your studies and then continue
on to college.
Obtaining a degree, he said,
is a long and tough road but your
success will be beneficial to both
you and your community.
This way you will feel good
about yourself, you will have
more opportunities, and most
of all you will be marketable,
Copeland said.

Museum hosts Living Traditions
The Museum at Warm Springs will be hosting the Living
Traditions demonstrations through September.
The exhibit begins with Wasco regalia, featuring Viola
Kalama on July 22 and 23.
After that, tule weaving with Fred Wallulatum will be on
July 29 and 30; patlapah and shell dress with Eileen Spino on
August 5 and 6; drum making with Emerson Squiemphen
August 12-13; breast plates with Evans Spino Jr. August 19-
20; cedar bark baskets with Annette Jim, August 26-27; and
traditional foods with Darlene Foster September 2-3.
The demonstrations are from noon to 4 p.m.
On September 3 there will be a dance performance at 11
a.m.

Falon Elizabeth
Aldo Allen Rhoan-Garcia and Dellarae Suppah of Warm
Springs (Schoolie Flats) are pleased to announce the birth
of their daughter, Falon Elizabeth, born on June 19, 2006.
At birth Falon weighed seven pounds, 14 ounces, and mea
sured 19 and one-half inches in length.
She joins brothers Josiah, Damon and Avan and twins
brother and sister Shareya and Aldo Jr. of Lapwai, Idaho.
Parents of the father are Delbert and Sharlayne Garcia
of Schoolie Flats, and the late Robert Speakthunder. Par-
ents of the mother are are Roman Suppah and the late
Joann (Poker) Nelson of Ft. Peck, Mont. Grandparents of
the fathre are Wallace and Lillian Garcia of Lee, Nev.; and
atwai Amial and Elizabeth Rhoan. Grandparents for Dellarae
are John and Joyce Nelson of Portland; Raymond “Tape”
Johnson of Seekseequa; Pat Allen of Grande Ronde; and
Delson Suppah Sr. of Fort Hall, Idaho.
