Choir The Jefferson County Middle School Choir has had the honor of being one of 12 groups se lected nationwide to perform for the Benjamin Franklin 300th Birthday Commemoration. This American Musical Salute will take place April 7-9, 2006, in Philadelphia. Not only will we be representing our area, but the state of Oregon as well. Our choir has five different nationalities, so well represents the area's ethnic and cultural diversity, and also has several challenged youths. This is a icc onrifinnii i r ill ESSSSSS33 a M BPEBmmEBBUUKmttrS AT 'diyMT- Htltnitfti, mrnmnmi A ins rnim asi f miter rt!tiiti&i(& golden opportunity for all choir members. Since Jefferson County is a small agricultural community, and our fundraising resources arc very limited, we are seeking monetary donations. We have 32 students in our choir, and have decided that we must all attend. Therefore, we are seek ing to raise $27,000 before Feb ruary 2006, when our last install ment is due. We appreciate any help, whether it be a donation or supporting our fund-raisers. As you can see, we have an enormous amount of work ahead of us but hopefully, with the help from friends like you, we can achieve this goal and make Oregon proud of our musical accomplishments. Thank you for your time. Re spectfully, Meagan Fine, choir president. Alcohol ;,K :Alcohol always, lied to me. v v drank for eourage and woke up night after night horri fied. I drank to be sexy and turned people off. I drank so that I could relate to others and I babbled. I drank to put down loneliness and found myself retreating more and more into my shell. I drank to relax and woke up tense. I drank to be entertain ing and became an obnoxious clown. I drank to live more fully and contemplated suicide. I drank for adventure and discovered disaster. . I drank to be more honest and insulted my friends. I drank to quiet my nerves and woke up RIDES - ANIMALS - EXHIBITS - FOOD - GAMES - MORE THE DESCHUTES COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS IN REDMOND, OREGON July with hangover jangles. I drank to feci better and ended up sick and throwing up. I drank to have fun and passed out in the middle of the party. I drank to pep myself up and ended up exhausted. I drank to feel successful, a big shot, but ended up a failure. I drank for security and be came afraid of my shadow. I drank to feel better about myself and ended up hating me. I drank to prove I could handle alcohol and ended up knowing it controlled me. A friend asked, "But surely, now that you've been sober awhile, it would take a lot of alcohol to put you back in that condition." "Just one drink," I answered. Author unknown.
