Always inspect wires for dam age before installing them for the season. Choose a freshly cut tree as your Christmas tree. Cut a few inches off the bottom of the tree and remember to keep it well watered. Use a sturdy tree stand, and always keep it away from open flames. Make sure an operating smoke detector is installed nearby. Don't allow light bulbs to touch parts of the tree. Do not overload electrical outlets or run wires or extension cords underneath carpets.
