Alyssia Lanay Scott
Joseph Scott Jr. and Crystal Berman are proud to announce
ihe birth of their daughter Alyssia Lanay Scott, born Novem
ber 29. She joins a brother Joseph Scott III. Paternal grand
parents are Joe Scott Sr. and Lucelia Berry of Warm Springs.
Maternal grandparents are Addison and Gaye Artis of
Redmond. Great grandparents are Dave and Beth Berman
of Crooked River Ranch; and Nola and Rapheal Queahpama
of Warm Springs.
Sebastian Jakob James Bisland
Benjamin Bisland and Roxanne Johnson-Bisland are pleased
to announce the birth of their son Sebastian Jakob James
Bisland, born October 31.
Gunner John Herkshan Jr.
Gunner John Herkshan and Rosetta Martinez of Warm
Springs are proud to announce the birth of their son Gunner
John Herkshan Jr., born November 23. He joins a brother
Jeremy, 14, and sisters Brandy, 13, and Denise, 6. Gunner's
maternal grandparents are Trudic Smith of Madras and Henry
Martinez of Warm Springs.
Eric John Herrera Jr.
Eric John Herrera and Vanessa Renae Plazola are proud
to announce the birth of their son Eric John Herrera Jr.,
born November 22. His paternal grandparents are Sherry of
Madras and Salvador Herrera of Pendleton. His maternal
grandparents are Lalani Wolfe of Madras and Jose Plazola
of Mexico. And great grandparents are Paulette and Celedonio
Ruiz of Texas.
Campaign to promote
safe holiday driving
' December is National Drunk and Drugged Driving (3-D) Pre
vention month.
: Between Thanksgiving and the New Years holiday is one of the
busiest times on the roads, and one of the most dangerous times
of the year due to alcohol and drug related traffic accidents and
fatalities.
That is why the local Health Promotion Team - staff from
Indian Health Service, and the Community Health Education Team
- have joined forces 'With the National Highway Safety campaign
to remind everybody to please designate a sober driver before
your holiday outing.
Members of the Health Promotion Team will be at the Warm
Springs Post Office during the morning of Friday, December 10
for the start of the annual Red Ribbon Campaign to promote safe
driving.
Please support their efforts to save lives, and keep our roads
safe by flying and red ribbon on your family vehicle.
Raffle for horse race memorial
This holiday season, a
Christmas stocking raffle will
benefit the Thurman
Squiemphen Wild Horse
Race Memorial in June,
2005.
The raffle drawing will be
held Dec. 24.

Howlak tichum
Omar Winishut Jr. passed
away December 5 at the home
of a friend. He was 44 years
old.
, Mr. Winishut was born Oc
tober 28, 1960 at Madras to
parents Omar Winishut Sr. and
Naomi Kalama.
Mr. Winishut was a life-long
resident of Warm Springs. He
worked for Warm Springs For
est Products Industries.
He is survived by his brother
Frank Switzler of Warm
Springs; sisters Theresa VanPelt
and Rachel Winishut, both of
Warm Springs.
A dressing ceremony was
held Dec. 7 at the Agency
Longhouse. Burial was Dec. 8
at the Agency Cemetery.

Second-grader Aldo Aniline is glad to be
back at Warm Springs lilemciitary. lie and his
family moved to White Swan jura while, and then
moved had: to Warm Springs about a month ago,
"We're glad to have him bad:, " said school
principal Dawn Smith. "We missed him. "
Aldo 's favorite subject at school is reading, but
he has also been doing excellent in math. I lis scores
on the math tests are what prompted Kevin Rodin,
school improvement coordinator, to nominate Aldo
as the ) 'tiling Achiever. "I le has had some really
high scores, " said Rodin.
When he is not in school, Ado said his favorite
thing is to play outside. His parents are 1 .anelle
and Hobby Warren.
