Lawrencia Myrtle Emilina Greene
was born on March 29 at 9:19 a.m.,
and weighed 8 pounds one ounce,
and is 20 inches long. She was born
to Ramon and Plyza Greene of Crow
Agency, Mont.
She joins Verbena Greene of
Crow Agency, and Jake Frank of
Warm Springs. I ler grandparents are
Ramona Greene-Baez of Warm
Springs, and Luis Baez of San Ber
nardino, Calif.; and Pat and Kristine
Big Lake of Crow Agency.
Great grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. Luis Baez Garcia of Madera,
Calif., and the late Verbena and Perry
Greene and Harold Greene of Warm
Springs; and Warren Joe and the late
Myrtle Blaine of Lodge Grass (No
Water District), Mont.; and the late
Donna Spotted Bear of New Town,
North Dakota, and the late Harvey Big
Lake of Pryor, Mont.

Aaron Wewa and Robin Mitchell are

son Tyler Quinlin Muniz Wewa, born

Rodeo seeks
queen for 2004
The Pi-Ume-Sha Rodeo Club is
seeking contestants to serve as the
2004 Pi-Ume-Sha Rodeo Queen.
Call for Pi-Ume-Sha Rodeo
Queen. Rules for qualifiying are as
follows:
The contestant must be a mem
ber of the Confederated Tribes.
There must be parental permission
and PRC membership. The contes
tant must reside on the reservation,
be 13-17 years of age, and have a
horse and a beaded outfit or use of
one. Also, the contestant must be
able to travel.
Judging will be based on deket
sales, with 15 percent paid back to
the contestant; horsemanship, and
interview and essay.
Prizes: new hat with beaded
crown, beaded banner, beaded
breast collar and headstall, two new

Elders to speak
at Grassland event
Elders of the Confederated Tribes
will take part in a presentation on the
history of the Crooked River National
Grassland, which is celebrating its 50lh
anniversary. The anniversary celebra
tion is this Saturday, April 17,
The celebration will explore the past,
present and future of the 112,511-acre
national grassland, which is adminis
tered by the Ochoco National Forest.
The event will be from 10 a.m. till 3
p.m. on April 17 at the Jefferson County
Fairgrounds.
Tribal elders will share some of the
their knowledge of the grassland and
its importance to the traditions of the

The regional conference for Native
American cancer survivors, family
members, caretakers and medical pro
viders will be held Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at
Kah-Nee-Ta Resort.
