Mother's parents are Geneva Charley and the late Harold Smith Jr. Howlak tichum Victor Ray Barney Victor Ray Barney passed away on January 31. He was 48. Mr. Barney was born Septem ber 17, 1955 in Klamath Falls to parents Theodore Barney and Julia Hawley. Mr. Barney was an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. He worked as a chef in Madras. 1 le is survived by his sister Anna Hurtado. Perry Kuckup Kalama Jr. Perry Kuckup Kalama Jr., age 35, passed away at the Mountain View Hospital in Madras on February 2. Mr. Kalama was born to parents Colleen (Tufti) and Perry K. Kalama Sr. on November 23, 1968 at Mt. View Hospital. He was enrolled in the Confeder ated Tribes of Warm Springs. Mr. Kalama attended schools at Warm Springs, Madras, and Beaverton, then moved to Yelm, Wash., where he also went to school before moving back to Warm Springs. At the time of his death, he was a certified care taker for the state of Oregon. He also was employed for Shekinah Enterprises, learning how to build and trim houses. His father died at an early age, when Perry Kalama Jr. was a young boy. 1 lis mother died in 1985. He came to live with Tina and Easton Aguilar, whom he called mom and dad. Kalama married Debra Plouffe but sepa rated after three children. Mr. Kalama enjoyed fishing, hunting and bead working. Preceding in death are his father, Perry K. Kalama Sr., mother Colleen Tufti, two broth ers Kelvin Kalama and foandcr Squally, grandparents Rose and I lenry Kalama Sr., Charles and Eleanor Tufti, all of Warm Springs; and Sadie Mounts of Yelm, Wash. Survivors include one brother, Robert (Bobby Joe) Squally of Yelm, two sons Curtiss Dickson and Perry K. Kalama III; two daughters Shanell and Colleen Kalama; two stepdaughters he raised and claimed as his own, Shardae and Doriann Miller; one grand daughter; uncles Lawrence and Thurman Tufti, all of Warm Springs; special cousins Ann and Dayle Tufti; his special compan ion of several years Teresa (LT) Suppah; adopted parents Tina and Easton Aguilar; adopted brothers Henry M. Kalama III, and Leander Kalama of Warm Springs; and Aaron Squally of Nisqually, Wash.; also stepfather Leonard Squally of Nisqually, Wash. I Ie leaves behind several relatives and friends from Warm Springs and Nisqually. His dressing ceremony was private and held at the Bel-Air Funeral Home in Madras, where a one time only viewing took place on Wednesday, Feb ruary 4 at 4 p.m. He was trans ported to the Agency Longhouse for overnight services with Fred Wallulatum officiating. His re quest was for Ron and Viola Govcnor, Tim and William Wainaniwit, George, Tina and Easton Aguilar with his daugh ter Colleen to sing gospel songs for the beginning of his wake. Burial was at the Agency Cemetery with Easton and Tina Aguilar doing graveside services.
