Oregon Budget: half of revenue is from enterprises (Continued from page 1) Secretary-Treasurer Charles Jackson explained that, due to revenue shortfalls, the 2004 budget will include further re ductions, as has been the case over the past few years. But, said Jackson, with addi tional PL 93-638 contracting the cuts would not be as great as those required in a budget that does not include the increased PL 93-638 contracting funds. Jackson said that additional Self-Determination Act con tracting could add up to 1.2 million to the 2004 budget. The proposed 2004 tribal budget includes about $23.3 million in expenditures, an in crease of about $1.2 million over the current year. Estimated revenue for 2004 with additional PL 93-638 con tracting is $24.5 million. With out new contracting the revenue would be $1.25 million less. About half the revenue -$13.5 million - comes from tribal enterprises. Another $2 million comes from existing con tract support. Timber accounts for another $3.2 million. On Wednesday of this week (past the press time for this newspaper) the Tribal Council was scheduled to consider ap proval of a 2004 budget that balances anticipated revenues with expenditures.
