tational. The Warm Springs Nation
Boxing Club had four boxers
entered to compete, but only
two opponents arrived.
Louis and Jasper Smith had
opponent difficulty, their sched
uled opponents weren't there at
weigh-in. Justin Powers was
there though, and so was Mario
Crubele.

Warm Springs' Forest Man
agement on the reservation.
Scope of the Certifica
tion Assessment:
The forest management
certification assessment will
evaluate the environmental,
silvicultural and socioeco
nomic aspects of the tribally
managed forestry operations
of the Confederated Tribes,
using the Forest Stewardship
Council Pacific Coast Work
ing Group Draft 7.9.

match at 140 pounds.
To the center of the ring they
touched gloves, and at the

Trever took a few jabs and
right crosses in the first round,
being a little shorter of the two

Salmon camps provide
natural resource training
The OMSI Salmon Camp
Research Team is hosting natu
ral resource training programs
for Native American high school
and middle school students.
For the high school program,
ten students will be selected to
participate in natural resource
management research teams at
no cost This is a chance for stu
dents to learn about career op
portunities in fisheries and wild
life management. Students will
also learn about the many uni
versity programs in the natural
resources field.
For the high school students,
there are three summer program
home safety
Clean and remove conifer
needles and other debris from
your roof and gutters annually.
Prune trees up to eight to 10
feet to eliminate "fuel ladders."
You can vary the pruning height
so your trees are more natural
