Planning
ensure
safe holiday
By Suzi Macy

Warm Springs Fire Management
If you plan on cutting your
own Christmas tree this year
remember to do some things
before going out into the woods.
Check current weather con
ditions, make sure you have a
full tank of fuel in your vehicle,
get an early start and pack extra
food, clothing and blankets.
Have a first aid kit, tools, and
a spare tire and jack in your ve
hicle as well.
Tell friends or family the lo
cation you will be in and when
you plan to return. Going out
to the woods and cutting your
Christmas tree can be a enjoy
able time for the whole family,
but don't let ,the grincb, put a ,
damper on your holiday activi
ties. Be safe and have a very
happy holiday season.
By way of another holiday
safety tip, remember that the
threat of wildfire is not over.
The recent record cold
weather shows that winter is
here, yet the danger of wildfire
is still with us, especially with
backyard burning.
