Pasha Smith is a left-footed kicker,
playing mid field on the Madras High
School White Buffalo varsity girls soc
cer team. "Being a left-footed kicker is
one of her strengths playing on the left
side," said Coach Mike Osborn.
"Pasha is a very agile and consistent
player," said Osborn. "She has picked
up the game very quickly, and she has
a great attitude."
This is the second year that Smith
has played on the varsity soccer team.
She and Mariana Manion both joined
the team last year.
Like Smith, Manion is playing the
midfield. "She has been good for us
on defense," said Coach Osborn. "Her
strength is her mental toughness, the
desire to outplay and stay with her op
ponent." Smith is a starter at midfield on the
varsity team, and Manion often fills in
at that position during the games.
Playing at midfield, Smith and
Manion do not see as many scoring
opportunities as players in the forward
positions.
"But they are strong in getting the
ball up and down the sideline," said

to 2-3 overall, with a victory on the
road against the Gladstone Gladiators.
After two quarters of play the Buffs

At the halftime break things were not
looking good at all.
In the third quarter the Buffs broke
open and got on the scoreboard, as Pat
Boyle made a great run from about 35
yards out. Dcvin Reece booted the
point-after, and the Buffs were on the
move.
In the fourth quarter the Buffs
moved the ball down to the 3-yard-line.
From there, Malcom Vollmer punched
the ball in for the score. Again Reece
kicked the PAT to put the Buffs ahead
14-12.
With the game winding down the
Gladiators were on the march trying
to get the ball into the end zone, when
