New totes
help pick
up service
The Sanitation and
Landfill Department re
cently began distributing
90 gallon totes to all
homes on the reservation
with scheduled garbage
service. Homeowners are
asked to use the new totes
instead of their old cans.
The drivers have a tote
lifter on their trucks that
empties the totes into the
truck. This reduces the
chances the drivers would
get injured from repetitive
motion injuries.
This change was sug
gested by the state of Or
egon O.S.H.A.
The benefit to the ho
meowner is that more
trash to be picked up than
the two cans allowed be
fore. The tote also has
wheels and can be moved
easily. If you have any
questions call Nancy
Collins at 553-1196.
