The destruction of oppo nents occurred in the Masters division of the Nevada tourna ment. The Warm Springs lady bowlers won in all divisions including the Masters A, B, and C categories. Each division is based on the bowlers average with A Di vision being the highest. You must also be enrolled with a recognized tribe and be a mem ber of the WIBC (Women's In ternational Bowling Con gress). The ladies bowled four games against one another ini tially. The top five in each di vision then rolled off in a scratch series stair-step event. Sheilah Clements was the winner of the C Division . Sec ond place went to Edna David Begay. During the Holi day Bowling Tournament held in Bend Clements won her 1" Masters event. Begay also rolled off against the defending champion CeCe Marin of Oakland, Calif, and came away the winner. Birney Greene-Boise is also well known in the bowling cir cuit. She has many awards for her bowling excellence. Greene-Boise placed 2nd in the B Division Masters. Sandra Greene-Sampson won 1" Place in the A Division Masters event. Greene Sampson rolled off against top bowler Joy Grant from Ft. Duchene, Utah. Grant bowled a perfect game of 300 during the All-Indian holiday tournament. Greene-Sampson was also selected last summer to repre sent Madras in the State Na tionals held in Portland. She earned the honor because she had the highest average in all league events over the course of the regular season. Greene Sampson is widely known for her bowling skills and her op ponents know they must bowl their very best when they go up against her. Asked where she will bowl next Greene Sampson stated she will be go ing to the All-Indian Bowling Tournament at Omak, Wash., April 12-14. Week of the Young Child activities scheduled in April The week of April 9-12 is the Week of the Young Child, and the Early Childhood Edu cation Center will be hosting special events to commemorate the occasion. On Monday, from 10 a.m. till 11, Head Start will take a field trip to Carol's Teepee for story time. This activity is again scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. Also on Tuesday, there will be a community gathering in celebration of the Week of the Young Child at the Museum at Warm Springs. This will be from 5 to 8 p.m. On Wednesday, there will be an ECE staff celebration in the E pod staff lounge. There will also be a fun runobstacle course in C pod. Thursday all day will be SMART Reading Day. Zoo day will be celebrated from 10 till 11 a.m. in the ECE lobby and backyard. On Friday at 10:30 a.m. will be the ECE Children's Parade "Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes."
