Blacklodge to perforin at Grammy Awards
On Saturday, Feb. 27, the
Blacklodge Singers of White
Swan, Wash. - featuring one of
our own tribal member
Freddie Ike Jr. - will be aired
on the 2002 Grammy Awards
in Los Angeles for their
Grammy nominated Album
"Weasel Tail Dream".
A year ago February 2001,
The Blacklodge singers re
corded two albums in a two
day stretch.
The other album, "Its Been
A Long Time Comin," fea
tured two songs written and
composed by Freddie.
One of the song's tided "Oh
Shucks" was performed as the
final song during the 2001
Schemitzun World Champion
Hand Drum Contest.
Blacklodge took home three
trophy's for hand drum north-
The Blacklodge Singers
em contemporary, and all
around choice; which makes
them the reigning World
Champion Drum Group.
On Saturday Feb. 23 from
11 a.m. to 7 p.m. the family of
Freddie Ike, Jr. will be having
a Indian Taco, Stew & Fry
bread and drink fundraiser sale
and the W.S.
Community Wellness Cen
ter in the Social Hall. All the
proceeds will be generated for
travel cost and expenses for
Freddie's Family, wife Patricia
Umtuch Ike, Daughter Felicia

making them the

Reginald James Heath
Reginald James "Reggie" Heath passed away on Febru
ary 6. He was 23 years old.
Reginald was born on January 20, 1979 to father Kirby
Heath Sr. and Jessie Lisa Heath.
Reginald is survived by brothers Kirby Gary Heath Jr.,
Kevin Jimmy Heath, Sonny Noah Berry, Michael Lee
Berry and Jerrod Isaac Heath. Reginald is also survived by
sisters Melody Swan Berry and Keene Starr Heath.
Malisa Wesley
Malisa "Missy" Wesley passed away at Mountain View
Hospital of natural causes on February 6. She was 42.
Ms. Wesley was born December 16, 1959, in Prineville,
to parents Jimmy Wesley and Marceline Miller.
Malisa Wesley was a lifetime resident of Warm Springs.
She was employed at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort.
She is survived by her parents, and brothers Rod Wesley,
Jimmy Wesley Jr., Roger Stwyer, Henry Stwyer, Davis
Stwyer and Wendell Greene, all of Warm Springs.
Also, sisters Jaimey Wesley of Warm Springs, and
Aurolyn Watlamet of White Swan, Wash. A brother pre
