Letter to the editor
Mr. Sid Miller:
I have been trying to get some information on how I
would be able to receive the Spilyay Tymoo. ...
I have a suggestion for you. I would like to see some
pictures of our ancestors. I think everyone in the tribe
would like to see and have acopy of our old ones that
the youngsters should know as their people.
Maybe something like their picture, date of birth, their
Indian name, and some of their life history.
Thank you for your time.
Respectfully,
Ira Charles Pete
Indian funds cut in 1977 EDA budget
The 1977 budget of the Economic Development
Administration (EDA) shows a $4.27 million cut in In
dian programs, including monies for planning.
Although the overall EDA buget will increase from
just over $354 million to $360 million, each category of
Indian programming will decrease. '
Ray Tanner of the EDA Indian Desk said, "I don't
like what is happening. I think Indian people need that
money."

Flan would
shift access
to mill
Transportation officials are'
looking at changing the road
access to the Warm Springs
Forest Products Industries
mill.
An advantage of the change
would be that the log trucks
would no longer have to park
along the side of the road in
the morning. The trucks in
stead would have means to
park off the highway. r '
BIA transportation officials
will conduct a public meeting
on the proposed change at 1
p.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, at Fire
Management at the Industrial
Park.
