" But' as time went by, three years to be exact, the machine cost had jumped up to $1 million, this amount not counting cost for the technicians to work it. Thus the "Tun-Mi" Cancer louse became a reality from a dream to leave a legacy. Names and telephone numbers were given so many calls were made to begin with fundraiers and other ideas. The new policy applies to any tribal employee, in the employ ment of the tribal government, who is an active practitioner of a traditional tribal religion of one of the three confederated tribes. Such an employee can take leave from employment with full pay and benefits to participate in all traditional religious activities of the Confederated Tribes, according to the policy. The extent of such leave, the policy states, is dependent on the specific role of the employee in an approved activity and shall include sufficient time for preparation prior to the event and rest after the event before the Traditional Prac titioner must report back to work. Also, the policy applies to an employee taking a Ichishkin, Kiksht or Numu language class, with a 2-hour per week limitation. The story in the previous Spilyay Tymoo on the traditional leave policy seemed to indicate that the policy took effect at the time of the Tribal Council action in August. That is not the case, and the Spilyay apologizes for any confu sion this may have created. Apology I would like to apologize to Ronald Kalama. I'm sorry, really I am. Charles T. Every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever Safely home in Heaven at last. Did you wonder I so calmly Trod the Valley of the Shade? Oh! But Jesus' love illumi nated Every dark and fearful glade. And he came himself to meet me In that way so hard to tread, And with Jesus' arm to lean on Could I have one doubt or dread? Then you must not grieve so sorely For I love you dearly still.
