Bend Library seeks artists
Tribal art would be
displayed from
Nov. through Jan.
The Bend Library is planning
an exhibit of art works by Warm
Springs tribal members.
"A group of us from the
library art committee visited the
tribal art show, and we were very
impressed with the artwork,"
said Kay Bauman, who is coordi
nating the show for the library.
Bauman said she is seeking
tribal members who arc inter
ested in having their artwork
shown at the library.
The library has a few cases
and shelves for three-dimensional
artwork, and space for about 40
to 50 two-dimensional artworks
that would hang on the walls of
the second floor of the library.
Minimum size for framed art
is 16 by 20 inches.
Artworks may or may not be
for sale. Art for sale must have a
purchase price. The library docs
not take a commission.
The phone number of the
artist will be on the label, and
anyone wishing to purchase art
will contact the artist directly.
The show will run from Nov.
16 to Jan. 31. Artwork should be
delivered on Nov. 9 or Nov. 10,
between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Artwork would then be
picked up after the show on Feb.
1 or Feb. 2, between 10 a.m. and
5 p.m.
Beaders gather Thursdays
Workshops at museum
A beading workshop is being
held on Thursday evenings
through November in the
Education Room of The Mu
seum at Warm Springs.
The workshops, on Thursdays
from 6 to 8:30 p.m., are open to
experienced and non-experienced
beading artists.
The workshops are a place to
meet old friends and make new
ones. Instruction is not included,
but the floor is open for anyone
present who wishes to share
beading knowledge and experi
ence.
There is a $5 per month
facility user fee, or a person can
pay a flat fee of $15 for three
months.
Please find a baby-sitter
because small children are not
allowed during the workshops.
Older children are welcome to
join the group with their beading
projects.
Please bring your beads,
beading material and beading
projects to The Museum's
Education Room.
