The 2001 Pi-Ume-Sha Softball
tournament drew several teams vy
ing for championship from visiting
states near and far. In spire of the
drizzle on Sunday, the tournament
went as planned and came to close.
The following are the results:

Pi-Ume-Sha Boxing event holds
The 1855 Pi-Ume-Sha Boxing
event this year was held in memory
of Luther Danzuka, Tony Stacona,
and Clifford Pamperien. A memo
rial dedication was held in their
honor, with a moment ot silence
while the bell was rung ten times.
They have passed on but will be re
membered as active participants of
the Warm Springs Boxing Club.

The 21" Annual Endurance
Horse Race had 11 riders compet
ing this year. The Senior division
had six and the Junior division had
five. Post time was right on sched
ule; Senior Division began their 14
mile race at 8:10 a.m. with the Jun
ior Division beginning their 5-mile
race at 8:14 a.m. This year's Endur
ance Race was in memory of Nathan
"8-ball" Jim, Henry Palmer, Edith
Danzuka, Vcrbeena Greene and
Gene Greene.

Madras and Warm Springs. The
District 5, Little Ix-aguc Softball
All-Star Tournament will be
held in Prineville, Oregon this
year, on the Riverside Fields,
from July 1-7, 2001.
The first game will be be
tween Columbia and Redmond
on field number 1, at 10:00 a.m.,
July 1. In game two Mood River
will face Bend North, 1:00 p.m.
on field number 1.
Game three Bend combined
will play Crook County, 4:00
p.m. on field number 1.
Monday July 2, Jefferson
County will play the winner of
game one. At 1:00 p.m. winners
of game two and three will play
against each other to round out
the first round.
