The run took place in the vicinity of the Kah-Nee-Ta resort. This was homecoming for the buffs and they put on quite a show in the second half. In the first half it looked as if Sherwood was going to cruise as they score two touchdowns in the first quarter. Brian Ebcrhardt scored on a run from 29 yards out, making the score 6-0. The Bowmen went for a 2-point conversion, but the pass could not be completed. Nick Marshall caught a 16-yard pass from Eberhardt, which doubled the score, with another 2-point conversion failed. In the second quarter Jim Winkler scored on a 3 yard run mak ing the score 18-0. Sherwood again failed to convert the 2-point conver sion, leaving he score 18-0. Jordan Marken added to the score with a 36 yard field goal. That made the score 21-0, going into half time. Madras looked like a new team in the second half scoring on a 16- yard pass from Colter Barnes to David White. Zarate missed the ex tra point and the score was now 21 6. Sherwood answered with a 3 yard run by Tim I larris. The extra point kicked was blocked by the buffs. After two 1 5-yard penalties from the Bowmen, Barnes again connected with White on a 42-yard touchdown catch, and this time Zarate made the extra point, closing the gap to 27-13. Tim Harris swept to the left and ran in for a touchdown from 3 1 yards out, with Marken kicking the extra point making the score 34-13. In the fourth, the buffs played really good defense, holding the bowmen to 3 and out. The buffs capi talized, on the defense and scored from 26-yards out, on a pass from Barnes to Jason Zarate. Zarate then made the extra point and the score was 34-20. The buffs again held the bowmen and got the ball back on downs. Kyle Jividen and Zarate both caught key passes up the middle. The buffs defense again was big, holding the bowmen and forcing them to punt. Jividen caught a bomb that put Madras on the Sherwood 34-yard line. Barnes was then intercepted and Sherwood used their running game to run out the clock. fi Colter Barnes was 22-39, with 3 1 9 yards passing and 4 touchdowns. Vibbert carried the ball once for 8 yards and Brunoe carried it 3 times for 9 yards. Jason Zarate had 1) catches for 137 yards and a touch down. David White caught the ball 4 times for 64 yards and two touch downs. Easterling had 2 catches for 34 yards and a touchdown. Jividen caught 3 passes for 79 yards, wifh Wise catching the ball twice for 9 yards. The Buffs travel to Estacada this Friday, October 20, 2000, to take on the Rangers.
