The buffs started the game with a ground attack, using John Adams to get their first score, as he ran the ball in from 1 1 yards out. Banks came right back, using it's passing game to get to pay dirt before the quarter was up tying the game at 7-7. Both teams couldn't get anything going until a fake punt by the buffs at the end of the first quarter, got them back into the flow of the game. In the second quarter, quarter back Colter Barnes threw two passes to Jason Zarate one for 20 yards and the other for 22 yards. The second pass scored the buffs next touchdown making the score 14-7. Then the braves connected on another pass play later in the second quarter once again tying the game at 14-14. John Adams scored on a 54 yard run late in the third quarter, putting the buffs ahead 21-14, this score be ing john's second of the game. In the fourth quarter Banks scored two touchdowns to take the lead and never look back. Madras had a chance to tie the game but fell short late in the fourth. Colter Barnes threw the ball in the air 26 times, connecting on 1 2 of them for 144 yards one touchdown and one interception. Jason Zarate was 1-4 with 29 yards in the air, and caught the ball 5 times for 85 yards and a touchdown. Jake Wise had one catch for 29 yards. Jeff Barnes also had one catch for 22 yards. I know there were a lot more cowboys that were running in the evening that I can't remember at the top of my head, but you have not been forgot ten. The financial part of this whole Memorial was coming out of our own pockets. We never asked anybody for donations. We did it this way because it was our way of Honoring "deeper" and a lot more simple than having to create more work for ourselves and the folks that were involved. There are a lot of folks who are stopping us Carson Indian Bowling Tournament set for October 27-29 The 16th Annual Carson Indian Bowling Tournament has been sched uled for October 27-29, 2000 at the Carson Lanes, 4600 Snyder Ave., Carson City, Nevada 89701. I am also very grateful and ap preciative to the drummers who blessed the Rodeo grounds for this special event like Hobo, Yacht, Blox, Ronnie, Bernice with her presents and all the drummers and singers that sang the very honorable songs for David. I would like to thank you to Harley Andrews for presenting an empty saddle for his father. We would like to thank the Print shop staff for printing out our posters and our rodeo numbers for they were great. I also appreciate the small busi ness center for allowing the use of their computers to format our post ers, thank you. Our announcer for this event was Jake Grossmiller who resides in the Dalles. He knows a lot of our local cowboys and their parents that Ro deo. Jake you did an excellent job, I hope we do have one next year so you can come back and visit us, thank you. ning the chutes Ray and Roy, and the judges John Jr. and Evens, our pick up crew Disco, Buster, and Ramon. The Warm Springs Fire and Safety did a great job looking after the contestants if and when the need arose, thank you. The first place buckles and light towers were sponsored by Azar Spino, without those lights we would not have been able to have our night show. It was a good thing the light towers had 110 plug ins for exten sion cords for our announcer because somebody must have forgotten to pay their light bill for the Rodeo grounds that day, there was no power any where. But like I say, you must over come and adapt to situations that arise before you in everyday life. The Mugger's Belt Buckles were donated by Chico Holliday who rode for David a number of years and now that my bro is gone his spot on the team is going to be tough one to fill. The Mugger's Buckle was given to a mugger based on what I call the cow boy with the most heart. What I'm saying is that this' cowboy can get kicked, pawed, bit, freight trained, whatever you want to call it but the cowboy always got back up and tried it again to get his jockey on that horse. Deeper taught me a lot about Horse Racing as did a lot of other The -Wild Co-It- RacebuckJ.es CiiwJtcxJWiaUie. JtoJd Jo ..dois were sponsored by Reva Johnson, 'Never give up there is a way out of this event was a last minute event that was not in the original planning but turned out great. The young cowboys had to work hard to earn them beaded buckles. We had a total of six Wild Colt Race teams that wanted a chance to earn a buckle. I would like to thank our Rodeo Secretaries Dena, Lorreina, our Tim-' ers Binky and Allee, our boys run- every situation." I truly believe in this so when your out there Wild Horse Racing just remember what my brothers words are "Never Give Up." I want to thank all the contestants an the folks in the grandstands, the , people who was taking the entry's, , the people behind the scenes whoi shdwed there support through out this memorial, Thank You. , Thank you for your time, : i 1 .
