The 2000 Employee picnic was in the afternoon. The tournament in afternoon tournament. Second place in
to a three-on-three tourney on the morning was won by Dan the afternoon went to the "Winners",

The Warm Springs Community
Wellness Center would like to an
nounce the return of Step Aerobic
Fall Classes.
The classes are to begin on Mon
day, September 25, 2000. The classes
will be on Monday, Wednesday, Fri
day, at 12:00, noon. The instructor
will be Lovie Ike (back by popular
demand).
There will also be evening
classes starting up on Tuesday, Oc
tober 17, 2000. These classes will be
held on Tuesday and Thursday, start
ing at 6:00 pm.

Course Description:
lOKRun- Blacktop road; flats to rolling hills from Kah-Nee-Ia Village east past me uon
Course to Culpus Bridge. Turn-a-round point located at 3.1 mile. Water stations located at 1.5

5K Run- Fun runwalk; east on main road from Kah-Nee-Ta Village. Turn-a-round point locate
at 1.5 mile.

On September 15, 2000, the
Compact states of Oregon and Wash
ington agreed with the Columbia
River treaty tribes to open the follow
ing Zone 6 commercial gillnet fish
ing period:
6:00 am Tuesday September
19 to 6:00 pm Saturday September
23.
Area: Zone 6
Restrictions: All standard sanc
tuaries remain in effect including the
standard sanctuary around the Spring
Creek Hatchery from 1.5 miles
downstream of the Hatchery entrance
to 'A mile upstream of the hatchery
entrance.
Allowable Sales: The allowed
sales during the above season will be
salmon including Chinook, coho, and
steelhead, walleye, and shad.
Sturgeon Restriction: Sturgeon
between 4 feet and 5 feet in length
may not be sold commercially, but
may be kept for subsistence.
Note: During the opening there
will be no minimum mesh size re
strictions. Next Compact: This is antici
pated to be the last commercial fish
ing period for the 2000 fall fishery.
Another Compact is scheduled for
September 22.
Scaffold Fishery: The Scaffold
fishery remains open year-round.
Scaffold catch may be sold during
open commercial fishing periods.

Flag Football to start in October
Flag Football 2000 is coming to Warm Springs. The league is
for children ages 7 years old thru 8th grade. The cost is $10 and
or a current 2000-2001 Boys & Girls Club Membership (Sept.
00- Aug. 01). This includes 2 weeks membership at Culver ext.
There is also an athletic fee of $15. Registration for flag football
is on September 21, 2000. The league will run from October 2nd
-November 1 1th. The location is at Friendship Park, Madras &
Culver Park and Culver.
