All Indian rodeo results noted
Pee Wee Rodeo kicked off the Treaty Days All-Indian rodeo
Kendrick Astarloa. was the top
hand and Preston Williams was the
high money winner during the 26'"
annual All-Indian rodeo held June
26, 2000. Hie weather was ideal
and the show went right on sched
ule with Jake Grossmfller doing the
announcing for the affair. ,
. Jamie LaPlante scored 60 points
to win the bareback event with Lu
ther Leith with 59, for second place,
and the rest split ground money. ,
In the saddle bronc. Kendrick
Astarloa, scored 68 to take top hon
ors in that event with no other quali
fied rides 2Bd, 3rd, and 4 ground
split.
In the bull riding event the
money was split ground to all en
tries as there was no qualified ride
during the event of 1 3 entries.
In the calf roping Bob Joseph
tied his calf in 10.99. to win that
event with Preston Williams turning
in a time of 11.56, for second and
Justin Tom tied his calf in 11.93
which was good enough for third
place and Cort Herrera turned in a
12.16 for fourth place un the calf
roping event.
In the Steer Wrestling there were
two entries to turn in time with
Frank Reese Jr. put his steer down
in 53.32, and Cort Herrera had a
1.25.41 for second place, with 3"1
ground split.
In the team roping event Scott
Rogers and Preston Williams roped
their steer in 6.33, for first place,
Robert Bruisedhead and Clint
Bruisedhead rope their steer In 6.54

Peace and Dignity Journey
2000 to arrive in Warm Springs
Peace and Dignity Journey
2000 has begun it's trek to Mexico
City in honor of Preservation of Na
tive American culture and promo
tion of unqualified sovereignty
among Native American Nations.
Peace and Dignity is a Native
American spiritual run that was
completed in 1992 and again in
1996, and it has already begun for
the year 2000.
Runners beean the journey
from Tierra del Fueeo, Argentina in
South America, March 18 and
Chickaloon. Alaska, in North
America on May I.
In October the runners will
meet at ancient temples in Teotihua
can near Mexico City.
As in the past, Peace and Dig
nity Journeys is not sponsored ana
have very little money. . .
Local people are invited to join
in the run as it passes through
Warm Springs and to participate in
ceremonies that begin and end each
day' Peace and Dignity is scheduled
to arrive in Warm Springs July 7,
2000. This will be the first time
they will Journey through Warm
Springs. They will be staying at the
Community Wellness Center for the
night and leave July 8, for Sisters.
A potluck is scheduled for the
Peace and Dignity runners July 7 at
the Community Wellness Center.
Everyone is invited to attend.
