The Warm Springs Local T-Ball
League got off to a astounding start on
their 2000 season, with a Kick off
Jamboree on Monday May 15. Tho
round robin jamboree was games set
up with the 5 teams rotating across two
fields, located directly behi nd the Com
munity Center on the Pi-Ume-Sha
Grounds. Each team had the opportu
nity to play different opponets in a 40
minute time span, prior to the Hot Dog
Feed that followed.
This was a great opportunity to get
the teams together and get the butter
flies out prior to the regular league
schedule, which begins on Tueday May
16, 2000. T-B all is the introductary
stage of baseball & Softball to the
younger generation of boys and girls.
Coaches that are working with the
children, instruct them in base running,
fielding of the ball, and of course hit
ting the ball off a tee. The required
league ages of those children currently
registered should be six years of age to
eight maximum. Skill level is always
important in all ages of the Little League
program, not only here but nationwide
as a organized activity foryouth. Warm
Springs for example, will have many
youth with talent for the game and get
by with maybe two years of T-ball
before moving up to the Minor League
Program, which is designed for chil
dren ages 8 io 10 years of age. Some
youth need extra time in such leagues
where they amy spend more time get
ting skilled in the game, and building
their abilities to reach the next level.
This is of course throughout the league
in all age divisions not just T-ball.
There is a age overlap in the league
from T-ball, minors, and majors where
children at the border line can either
play at one level, or move up. Currently ,
there are 5 teams as stated, another
team is still looking for players to step
forward to fill in one more team. Reva
Johnson will coach the Stingers should
enough players come forth to field at

Thank you to all who helped
To the editor,
Thank you for another great re
lay! To my teammates, fans and
sponsors. I would like to thanks ev
eryone who participated in, cheered
us on or helped out with donations.
Our team was named "The Ayes
Team" (because we always joke
around and laugh) and consisted of
myself, Louella Bagley, Rebecca
VanPelt, Bo Ortiz and James Wolfe
III. We participated in the Reserva
tion Relay co-ed division on May 6,
2000. 1 wanted to personally thank
the members of my team for doing
their best and helping to finish this
race once again.
Although two of our runners were
in a car that was broke down on the
side if the road for part of the race,
they managed to catch up with us
and help us complete the relay. Next
time we'll go back and check on you
(we promise).
Thanks Lou for keeping us going
even when we thought we wouldn't
be able to finish the race. Bo and
Becky were a great help at the end
and got us to the finish line. Last, but
definitely not least, a big thank you to
James for running a great race and
making it out on such short notice. I
would also like to thank Kia Donahue
for loaning us his truck when our
other ride fell through. Thanks to my
mom, Kathleen Heath for helping out
with the entry fee and bringing us
much needed food and gatorade.
Also thanks to Chet VanPelt for
donating bottled water since he wasn't
able to run. Congratulations to all the
other runners and walkers that par
ticipated in this year's relay and we
hope to see you next year! OH! Al
most forgot about our biggest and
most loyal fan "Mickey". She ran
with us and cheered for us through
out the day. P.S. There is another
relay coming up in June, if anyone is
interested, let me know.
