Bowling Stadium from February 4
.6,2000. In the Men's doubles event there
were 58 entries. Placing third was
I Benny Heath and Joe Rauschenburg
with a combined score of 1278. They
received $ 1 40 dollars for their effort,
i. Brad Donahue and Ralph Minnick
finished in sixth place with 1217.
They won $84 dollars.

The Yakama Nation All-Indian
Basketball Tournament was held
from Wednesday March 22, to Sat
urday March 25, 2000. The tourna
ment was held over in Wapato, WA.
In the fifth place game, Warm
Springs came away with a win over
Wellpinit with a score of 85-73. James
Scott led Warm Springs with 38
points. Scott Riddle finished with
19. Wellpinit was led by Brent
Marchand who scored 18.
Yakama and Cortez, CO battled
for fourth with Yakama coming out
on top by one 100-99. Yakama was
led by Germaine Hart with 23 points.
Cortez was led by Mike Fisher with
22.
Fort Belknap, Mont, finished in
third place by defeating Ethete, Wyo.
99-81. Belknap's high scorer was
Cory Stiffarm who had 29. Willie
White scored 1 8 for Ethete.
In the championship game Joe
Prue scored 39 points to lead Santa
Clara past Lap wai, ID. The final score
was 122-1 13. Greg Factor added 19
for Santa Clara. Greg Jose led Lapwai
with 32. Felix McGowen pitched in
24.

Little League
Warm Springs Litde League try
outs will be April 17 at the Warm
Springs Community Wellness Center
ball fields. All players participating in
Little League will have to attend the
tryouts (minors, majors, boys and girls).
Seasons starts May 6 for baseball
and softball majors, week of May 8 for
minors andjuniors, week ofMay 15for
seniors.
An All-Stars coaches meetings is
scheduled for June 12th. All stars try
outs will begin June 16, 17, for the
minors baseball, July 5-7 for major
baseball and Jr. & Sr. softball, June 23,
24 for Jr. & Sr. baseball and minor &
major softball.
The All Star tournaments are set to
begin June 30-July for minor baseball,
July 21-31 for major baseball, July 7
17 for minor & major softball.
At the March 23 Litde League meet
ing it was reported that 71 participants
signed up to play in Little League for
2000 in the majors, minors, seniors,
and T-ball.
Also asked was that all uniforms
results for February-
$14 dollars.
In the Women's doubles event,
there were 45 entries. Jolene Boise
and her partner Kay Decorah, from
Oakland came in second with a
combined total of 1252. They
received $170 dollars. Sheilah
Wahnetah and Saphronia Katchia
finished fifth with a total of 1212.
They won $85 dollars. Sheylene
Black and Sandra G. Sampson
finished in sixth place with a total of
1207 winning $60 dollars.
In the Women's singles event,
Jolene Boise finished in fourth place
with a score of 646, winning $80,00.
Edna David came in eighth place
with a 638, and she won $55 dollars.
In the Mixed Teams event first
place went to the West Spur team,
who finished with a grand total of
2459. They won $700. The Jobes
came in fourth place with a 2377.
They received $180 dollars. The
Warm Springs Rudys finished sixth
with a 2363, winning $150 dollars.

2000 news
that were not turned in from last year
needs to be returned as soon as pos
sible. The Recreation Dept. would also
like a confirmation of their return for
2000 league year, so that all coaches
will receive a background check.
Coaches are also asked to turn in
equipment from last year for inven
tory. All players in minors, majors, Jr.,
Sr. league boys must wear an athletic
supporter.
The Warm Springs Little League
Committee is made up of six individu
als making decisions within the Warm
Springs township. This committee
meetings once every two weeks.
They are planning a community
clean-up day for all players, coaches
and parents to clean-up trash and weeds
around the ball fields. No date has been
set.

uled to be taken Thursday, April 20
from 4:30 to 6:30. Forms are available
at the Warm Springs Community
Wellness Center front office.
