The Warm Springs Branch of
Forestry has determined that nu
merous areas on the Warm Springs
Indian Reservation forest are over
stocked with young trees and need to
be thinned. The Precommercial
Thinning Program is seeking tribal
member thinners to submit bids for
contracts. Those submitting bids must
be tribal members, have a minimum
of one year of thinning experience,
proper equipment, a vehicle, appro
priate insurance and knowledge of
the bidding process. They will also
be required to complete a question
naire on thinning experience.

Emma "Bunny" Brunoe passed
away at the age of 67 at St. Charles
Medical Center on February 25,
2000. She was born to August
"Buster" and Elizabeth (Chargin)
Brunoe on February 6, 1933. She
was an enrolled member of the
Confederated Tribes of Warm
Springs and was of Wasco, Aleut
and Warm Springs descendant.
Brunoe resided many years in Ne
vada and California before re
turning to home where she re
mained until her demise. ,
Bunny attended Chemawa In
dian School in Salem, OR in her
younger years. Later she attend
Steward Indian School in Carson
Albert F. Doney, age 65 years
old passed away February 26, 2000
in the Hood River Hospital in Hood
River, Oregon.
Mr. Doney was in Malta, Mon
tana on January 26, 1936. He grew
up in Montana and spent his adult
years living in the Pacific North
west. He played basketball but war
dancing was his gift. A champion

Emma "Bunny" Brunoe
City, Nevada where she played in the
school band and learned many dif
ferent trades. One of her favorite
interest was her guitar and harmonica.
She enlightened many people both
old and young wi tli her talent in music
and songs.
Brunoe was employed at many
different jobs, which she put all her
potential into whatever tasks she had
to perform. She will be missed by
many for her kindness and tender
heart to both people and animals, -especially
Romeo (her pet). We will
all remember her as a warm hearted
generous person. .
Preceding in death are her parents,
a son Delbert Frank (Brunoe) Miller
Albert F. Doney
fancy dancer and hoop dancer took
him to many states including Canada.
His last years was spent living in
Carson, Washington, working for the
Forest Service until he retired.
He was preceded in death by a
brother Fred Doney.
Survivors include wife, Liz,
brother Ivan Doney, sons Delford
and Landy Doney; three grandchil-
