If you have ever wanted to coach

Raymond Riddle, owner and presi
dent of Miniature Football League
(MFL), has been holding weekly
games at Abby's Pizza Parlor, in
Madras.
For the past few weeks, Central
Oregon's football fans have been
participating every Monday night
starting at 6 P.M., in a Miniature
Football League.
"I would like to introduce you to
the M.F.L." Riddle says. "You as a
owner and a coach for a team have a
chance to win a football Super Bowl.
Everyone uses the same Quarterback
by the name of Throne Boms. If you
feel you have what it takes to com
pete in this MFL events, this is the
place to be."
Riddle is hoping to spark some
interest to the MFL each season.
According to Riddle, there are a

The first one is that you do not have
to be good at football, you just have
to be a little lucky.
The MFL's membership includes
players that range anywhere from
11 -years-old to adult. One of the
MFL players is currently in our
play-offs and happens to be one of
the younger players. The MFL is
looking at expanding the member
ship. At the present time, there are 1 4
teams, but Riddle says he would like
to expand to as many as 24 teams for
the next season. The MFL president

this time each year to move schools

The OSAA has set classification

Class 2A- 110-300; 1A- 109 or

One rule enforced by the league is
that you can not have a team that has
already been taken. If you have a
favorite team, you might want to
make contact with the MFL as soon
as possible. If not, you may not be
able to get the team of your choice.
MFL rule number 2 is, if you are
under 18 years of age, the MFL can
only award you a gift certificate in
stead of cash.
When Raymond Riddle formed
the MFL, it was because the football
eame was fun. Now it has become
more of a job for Riddle because he
has to make all the game schedules ,, game, even the spectators have fun

There were six players in double
figures for the Buffaloes, as they
coasted to the easy win. Because the
Sisters Outlaws are still in the hunt
for the State football Champion
ship, many of their players are still
unavailable.
Dispite being the underdogs, Sis
ters Evan Owens out scored every
one for the night with a total of 22
points. That probably was the high
light for the Outlaws for the night.
The Buffs outscored Sisters in
every quarter almost at will, at the
end of the first quarter the score
was23-12, and at halftime the score
board showed 47-28, for the Buffs.
They were never in anykinfd of
trouble through the game.
The entire Buff bench saw some
action in this game and when the
final buzzer sounded the Buffs were
out in front 91-48, which might have
been a relief for the Oudaws.

The board also heard requests for

move LaGrande from Class 4A to
Class 3 A District 7 (Greater Oregon

Riddle says it takes about one
hour and 20 minutes to play a game
unless overtime is involved. "Be

Riddle said. "Everyone has a chance
to win. In the last three seasons there
has been only one shut-out."

Madras Buffaloes
Over Dallas in Final
Game 62-60
' The Buffaloes win the McKinzie
Memorial tournament in a game
against Dallas, in a game which
came right down to the wire and the
final score was 62-60, in favor of the
Buffs and the Championship,
t There were some doubts prior to
the game with Dallas, but with de
termination the Buffs prevailed over
the taller Dallas team. As the game
got underway things seem to fall
into place as the Buffs showed poise
and confidence mounted as the game
went along and at the end of the first
period the score was even at 19
apeice.
In the second quarter the defense
stiffened up more and the Buffs
showed more hustle where they out
scored Dallasa in the second period
by sue points going into the half time
intermission leading 33-27. The
team spiritwas high andtheyplayed
consistant and they showed a well
balanced team during the game.
They out scored Dallas 16-10 in the
third quarter to keep their lead in
tact. Going into the final quarter the
Buffs had a nice lead but than Dallas
had other ideas and closed the gap
with in two points when the final
buzzer sounded ending the game. It
looked as though they might over
take the lead from the Buffs but time
was the big factor for the win for the
Buffs.

Madras 62: Travis Moschetti 1 8,

Madras White Buffaloes
Win Fifth over Molalla
The Madras White Buffaloes
made 5 in a row with a win over the
Molalla Indians, on Saturday night
December 11, 1999.
Chasen Walker ripped the nets
for a total of 17 points to lead the
Bufaloes on a scoring rampage. He
had three 3 pointers during the
game. One of his three pointers was
in the air as the buzzer sounded
ending the third quarter.
The Buffs led at the end of the
first quarter by the score of 23-21,
but were trailing at the end of the
half 3 1-30.
Jacoby Ellsbury came off the
bench and played a real good game
especially under the back boards as
he pulled down a number of re
bounds from the taller Molallateam.
