Having learned about the opening for stu dent work for the month of Decem ber at the September board meeting, Barbara Williams volunteered to get together some artwork by the end of October, knowing that there were art teachers whom she knew and could depend on to help gather and prepare the work for a show on short notice. Classes are held at the Educa tion Center, 1110 Wasco, top floor training room COCC offers workshop Central Oregon Community Col lege will present a Parent and Family Night for families of college-bound high school students at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30 at Madras High School. The two-hour work shop will include break-out sessions on how to choose a college, scholar ship searching, career planning, fi nancial aid and managing the transi tion to college. Although the work shop is geared toward high school juniors and seniors and their fami lies, all age groups are invited to attend. A workshop is also scheduled at 7 p.m. on December 7 at Mountain View High School. Students from all high schools are invited to attend any sessions. CPRFirst Aid An adult CPR and First Aid class will be held at Mountain View Hos pital on Friday, December 3, 1999 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The class will not cover infant and child CPR. Upon successful completion of this class, participants will receive the Heartsaver Plus certification from the American Heart Association and the Adult Basic First Aid certifica tion from the American Safety and Health Institute. Both organizations are OSHA approved. The class will be instructed by Janet Bissell and Eva Montee, certi fied instructors for Mountain View Hospital District.
