Good offensive play by lira Langnese, and Tosha Wilson, who were the two to score for the Buffs. Sisters Outlaws roll past Madras White Buffaloes 41-7 The Sisters Outlaws threw ev erything at the Madras White Buf faloes but the goal posts as they rolled on to post a 41-7, win on their home field on September 17, 1999. The defending state champions showed they still have some of that power from last years champion ship team, and also showed that they have the potential to repeat again this year for the title. The Sisters Outlaws, the No. 1, ranked team in the state started out with a touch down on a pass from Dusty Macauley to Shane Crowder from six yards out, the kick was good for the Outlaws and the score was 7-0 In the second quarter with 8:52 left on the scoreboard clock and after some good runs by Jaca and Christensen, Colter Barnes found David White open in the end zone on a pass for the score. Jason Zarate The Burns Hilanders Last Minute TD Beat Madras 28-27 The Buffs start out fast but get caught at the end to lose by one point to the Burns Hilanders 28-27. On the second play from scrim mage KellerChristensen broke lose in the secondary and scampered 61 . yards to pay dirt for the Buffs first score and with Zarate's kick made the score 7-0. After a couple of exchanges of possession of the ball the Hilanders scored from 4 yards out on a pass from Quarter Back Clemens to Kness for 6 points, the kick failed leaving the score 7-6, in favor of the Buffs. The Buff defense was real tough in the first half shutting down their running game and had a couple of sacks on the Quarter Back. The Outlaw defense rose and stalled the Buffs once again, and sacking Barnes for a 12 yard loss. On the Sisters next possession of the ball they moved the ball down to the 3 yard line and Macauley ran the ball in for the score. For the Point after TD, Ross Hayes ran the ball in for two points to make the score 2 1 -7, for the Outlaws. The Buffs were unable to get any kind of drive going even at times backs of Christensen and Jaca made some good gainers they would stall and have to give up the ball. 14-6 for the Buffaloes at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter the Madi as defense was all over the Hilanders forcing them to punt. Madras struck again in the second quarter when Christensen stormed through on a 4 yard run. The kick failed leaving the score 20-6, in favor of the Buffs as the half time came around. In the second half the Burns Hilanders were not to be denied as they put together a great passing game as Kellen Clemens piled up the yardage with his pin point pass ing. Having good protection gave him time to find his receivers out in the open, and if there was no one open he ran the ball for some good gainers. It was a long night for the White Buffaloes as they were unable to get any kind of a drive going. The Sis ters line penetrated the buff offense and gave the backs a bad time all evening long. The Buffs started a good drive down field and were moving the ball very well but than Sisters inter cepted a Barnes pass and ran the ball down to the 2 yard line and from there Jared Merrell ran the ball in for the score. Peterson kicking the extra point making the score 34-7 The final score came late in the third quarter on a pass from Macauley to Chris Small, again Peterson split the uprights for the extra point to make the score 41-7. The final period saw both teams battle back and fourth throughout gridders started to close in on the Buffs. Midway through the third quar ter Barnes hit Jacoby Ellesbury on a seven yard pass good for a TD, with Zarate kicking the point after mak ing the score 27-13. The Hilanders start the airial attack picking up good yardage in the fourth quarter when Clemens connected with Atttleberger on another pass for a TD and with the kick good brought the Hilanders within 6 points and with some kind of luck they could tie the game and win with the point after. The Buff girls won their game the score of 2-1 , in a hard played soccer game with the tempters near 100 de grees, it was a real scorcher. People trying to sit in the shade, but there was no shade to be tound. In the first period as each team took the ball up and down the field it wasn't until there was 14 minutes left on the clock when Kira Langnese made her move toward the goal posts and booted in the first score for the game to put the Bulls ahead I-O. Sisters came right back and within a couple of minutes they scored to tie the Buffs at 1-1, as the first period came to a close. In the second period the teams went head to head most of the period . Tasha Wilson broke in to kick in the second score for the Buffs making the score 2- 1 in tavor ot the Buff gals. That s how the game ended as the Madras girls were able to hold off the Sisters girls to win the game. the quarter. Some times penalties take the soup out of things as the Buffs were in penalty trouble quite a bit and that really hurts a team just as they are starting to make a move someone gets a little excited and moves a little too soon and the yel low flags fly. The Buffaloes done a good job but it was just some game jitters that they couldn't shake, oth erwise at times they looked real good against the top rated team in the state. ;' It's Homecoming for the White i Buffaloes on September 24, as the Wilsonville Wildcats are coming to town. The Wilsonville team is a team to watch maybe as they have faced 4-A competition this year and are well balanced in most positions.
