The current plan will be in effect until December 31, 2001 and Tribal Council has directed the staff to have a draft plan prepared nine months in advance of the expiration date. IRMP I was adopted as Ordinance 74 by a vote of the Tribal Council in 1992. Their decision supported a staff recommendation to use a balanced management approach, which pro vides adequate protection for natural resources and opportunities for com patible economic enterprises. An objective to manage the com mercial forest on a sustained-yield basis was also endorsed by Tribal Council, establishing an annual al lowable cut of approximately 52 million board feet, a figure that was phased in during the first five years after the plan was implemented. Ms. Merrificld was born to parents Dinah & Wilbur Merrifield. She was a lifetime resident and an en rolled member of the Confeder ated Tribes of Warm Spring. Merrifield enjoyed, soccer, soft ball, volleyball, & basketball (which was her favorite), through out Middle School and High School. In her freshman year, she was on the Junior Varsity Basket ball team. At her earlier years, she Willis James Looney, 14 years old, was one of four killed in an automobile accident on July 10, 1999 in Madras, OR on Highway 97. Looney was born May 6, 1985 to parents Reamona Buck and Willis James Looney. He lived at Priest Rapids and was a member of the Wanapum and Yakama Nation. He enjoyed traveling and being with family and friends from Priest Rapids, Yakama Nation and Warm Springs, OR ... Anthony Austin "Tony" Stacona, age 30 years, died July 9, 1999 due to a single car accident on Highway 3 in Warm Springs, OR. Mr. Stacona was born June 22, 1 969 in Bend, OR to parents Willie and Zelma "Tada" Smith Stacona. He was a member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and a lifelong resident. Stacona went to schools in Warm Springs and Madras, excelled in numerous sports activities such as basketball & football, graduating in 1987 from Madras High School. He received a football scholarship to Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR.
