Other SIPI runners who contributed to the national title were Theodore Round Face, fifth place, 2:47:24; Christopher Honyumptewa, seventh place, 2:50:02; and Varian Bcgaye, eighth place, 2:54:02. Katoney, Honyumptewa, and Bcgaye were also members of the SIPI marathon team that won the title in 1 998. Both Leslie and Katoney received All American honors for their first and second place finishes. This year Nicole Main and I were recently selected to represent the United States at the International Sports Challenge. I will be competing in this event in Holland on August 2-9, 1999. I will be given the opportunity to compete internationally, interact with foreign athletes the same age, and tour the historical attractions of the host country. In order to participate in this once in a lifetime studentathlete experience, I will need your help. I am requesting sponsorship from individuals and businesses, like you, to help offset the financial cost. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. However, Katoney, Round Face, Honyumptewa, and Begaye worked together to pick up the pace and catch most of the remaining field and wrap up the team title. It was a decisive effort on their part to move up from so far behind in order to get the win. "This is the greatest basketball event in Central Oregon. We are especially proud of our partnerships with Central Oregon To the editor, ; Our family would like to take this opportunity to THANK the Warm Springs Rodeo Associa tion for allowing our family to sponsor an event in memory of our father, Perry Lawrence Greene. We sponsored the Wild Horse Race event by paying for the 1 st place buckles. It has been a long time since our family actu ally spent time at rodeo together and it was a very emotional and exciting time we really enjoyed ourselves. And little did we know that our children (Garrett Greene, Ramon Greene and Jimmy Tohet, Jr.) were riding in that event. We are very proud to say that they won 2nd place and this was their very first time in the Wild Horse Race event. Again, we got to see a great rodeo and enjoy seeing old friends.
