10 May 6, 1999 Warm Springs, Oregon Spilyay Tymoo Spilyay Tymoo Sports r' 7 12th Annual Reservation Relay has four teams compete The 1 2th Annual Reservation Relay was held on Saturday May I, 1999. The relay only had four learns turn out for the event, but the participants still enjoyed the run. Coming in 1st place for the Adult Males were the "Reservation Road Kill" out of Bend, OR. Their time was 8 hours, 1 7 minutes, 42 seconds. Team members included captain Chad Brindle, Douglas Dean, Mike Collar and Douglas Williams. 1st place Adult Co-ed winners consisted of only two people and they were called "Two Person Co ed" out of Beaverton, OR. Their time was 8 hours, 25 minutes, 1 8 seconds. Members included Pamela Merrick and David Hipps (both ran 29 miles a piece). 1st place Adult Female winners were "Debbie's Girl's" from here in Warm Springs. Their time was 10 hours, 24 minutes, 09 seconds. Team members included Debbie Thompson, Sandra Greene-Sampson, Monica Leonard, Sarah Begay and Zena Bartz. Runner up Adult Female team was "You Go Girls!" from Beaverton Warm Springs, OR. Their time was 1 1 hours, 28 minutes, 36 seconds. Members were captain Laurie Danzuka, Geraldinc Brown, Louella Baglcy, Hollyanna Spino and Lucinda Heath. IS, H5; - J M '; U . Runner takes off on four mile leg. Tribal member seeks support and sponsorship Warm Springs tribal member and sophomore at Madras High School, Cecelia Ann Polk, is seeking fund raising and sponsorship for two basketball trips. The first trip will take place July 1 8-22, and will lake Cecelia to the Junior National Bas ketball Competition in Columbus, Ohio. The second trip takes place in August and will take her to The U.S.A. National Basketball in The Netherlands. Both trips, Cecelia will be representing the U.S.A., The State Of Oregon, Madras High School Basketball team, and the Confeder ated Tribes Of Warm Springs. Cecelia is 16-years-old and has won numer ous tourneys representing MHS Basketball team. Cecelia will be holding a raffle and selling sack lunches and other fund raisers as well. She has until early July for the Columbus Ohio trip and early August for the trip to The Netherlands. Any help or sponsorship is ap preciated to assist Cecelia represent our tribes, MHS , The State of Oregon, and the U.S.A. Cecelia has to pay for her own lodging, food, uniform, and her airfare to each event. Cecelia needs your donations as well as the support of her community, friends, and family. The tournament starts at 8:00 a.m. at the Wildhorse Resort Golf Course. To get there take Exit 2 1 6 off 1-84 near Pendellon, Oregon. Right next to the Wildhorse Casino. The Event was sponsored by the Kah-Nee-Ta Golf Association. In the Flight "A" division Gross, the winner was Larry Tulee from California. Second place went to Keiki Rauschenburg from Warm Springs. The Net winner was Gary Whittle from Madras, OR. Satch Miller from Warm Springs went home with second place. In the Flight "B" division Gross, Butch David won first place. Alley David came in second, both of them from Warm Springs. Net winner was Kelly Wechter from Kah-Nee-Ta. Jake Coochise from Warm Springs received second place. In the Ladies Division Shauna Queahpama won first place in the Gross and Madeline Spino won the Net. Both ladies are from Warm Springs, OR.
