While Allow me to introduce myself. I am your worst nightmare. I am the disease of addiction. Cunning, baf fling and powerful, that's me. I have killed millions and I am pleased. I am such a hated disease, and yet Ido not come uninvited. Unexpected maybe, but not uninvited. So many of you unsuspecting victims have stumbled into my trap. I can make your strengths seem like weaknesses and mold your vulnerabilities into bars that hold you captive and allow me to have may way with you. I will give you instant gratifica tion and all I ask is long-term suffer ing and sacrifice. Betrayal is what I do best. I love pretending I am your friend, your buddy, even your lover. I have given you comfort, have I not? When you were lonely, wasn't I there? Whenyou wanted to die, didn't you call on me? I was there to ma nipulate your thinking, to toy with your feelings, keeping you thinking you can't live without me. This is true glory to me. Your pain is my ecstasy; your destruction is my joy. Together we were able to destroy all things good in your life and together we can continue the pain and de struction to its completion. All I need is a little of your cooperation. You can handle this problem all by yourself. You don't need a 12 Step Program. There is an easier, safer way that isn't as demanding on your time. When we meet again I will show you the softer way. More than you hate me, I hate all of you who have a 1 2-Step Program. Your program, your meetings, your higher power, all weaken me and I cannot manipulate, control or func tion in the manner I am accustomed to. For now, I must lie here quietly. You don't see me but I am here and growing in power every day. I long for and I look for the time you need me again and until that day, I wish you suffering and I wish you death. Anonymous Rose Garden events listed Jody Miller Chemewa Indian School Vice Principal, Verna Mancha, shares that Jody Miller is one of the most kind, respectful persons she has ever met.
