Tymoo " WTTTT long time friend of the Warm Springs Tribe and was adopted as an honorary Chief of Warm Springs and given the name, "Chief Big Talk." For 40 years or so Lambert was one of the most popular rodeo announcers in the world. If you went to the Pendleton Round-Up, Calgary Stampede, National Finals in Oklahoma City, or the Denver National Livestock show and Rodeo, you probably heard Lambert behind the mike as the Rodeo Announcer. It was amazing how Lambert could find out the back ground of all the contestants who were competing and to know what they have done in their special events. This was for every contestant no matter where they came from. All the cowboys respected and enjoyed Lambert as the rodeo announcer because he was an announcer that kept things alive at any rodeo where he was the announcer. All the big rodeo's across the country wanted Mel Lambert as their rodeo announcer. Beside being a rodeo announcer Mel Lambert had his share of the movie industry . One of the memorable movies was where Lambert played the part of a horse dealer in the movie "Three Warriors," filmed here on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation and the Mt. Hood National Forest. Lambert grew up near Chiloquin on the Klamath Indian Reservation, where he too tried his hand at the rodeo game in the saddle bronc, bareback, bull riding, before he found that he was a better announcer than a competitor. After a person has competed in rodeos he can describe each event to put that certain color to glorify it and make it more interesting for the spectators.
