Creswell could have requested the game cancellation of a storm warning, but Hurricane George, was clear over across the country in Florid, and in the meantime the Madras White Buffaloes romped to a 38-0, blanking of the Creswell team, on September 26, 1998. It all started in the first quarter when Christensen cought a Jaca pass and ran it in for the score, the PAT was no good as the kick went wide, but the Buffs wereon the score board leading 6-0. In the second quarter Keller Christensen broke away on a run from about 55 yards to score his second TD for the game, again the kick failed to make the score 1 3-0 in favor of the Buffs. The Madras defensive team did a great job stopping the Creswell running backs, as they penetrated their line through out the game. Allen Jackson had a great defensive game getting his share of tackles. Creswell went to the air for a couple of passes and suddenly Brian Sites cut in front of a receiver and intercepted the pass and ran the ball in from about 30 yards out. This time Reeder was true through the uprights to make the score Madras 19, Creswell 0, and that's the way the score ended as the first half came to a close. As the second half got underway the Madras Buffs were; on offense Christensen broke away i on another TD, in the third quarter, the kick went wide leaving the score Madras 25 Creswell 0. The Creswell running game couldn't go any where so they started to go to the air but this time Christensen intercepted a pass and ran it in for another6 points. Reeders kick was ; good and the Buffaloes extended their lead to 32-0. As the fourth quarter was ticking away Jaca picked off a Creswell pass and ran it in for another TD for the Buffs, this time the kick failed but the time ran out giving the Buffaloes their first win of the year with the final score Madras 38 Creswell 0. The Buffs were put way back in a hole and couldn' t move the ball and punted. Taft made a drive on the Buffs and moved right down the field where Jeff Weiss ran the ball in from 7 yards out. The Kick was no good and they led 6-0. ,The, visifin'gjlyladra, White Buffaloes oyer shadowed the tigers of Taft High School in a drive that ended when Keller Christensen ran in from 25 yards out. Christensen's kick was good and the Buffs took the lead 7-6 The Madras defensive unit did a very good job penetrating the Tiger line getting to the ball carriers and even throwing them for losses.. Penalties hurt the Buffs time and again. What would have been a big gain usually ended up in a 10 or 15 yard loss. In the second quarter Jake Jaca went right , cut back and skirted in from 16 yards out for a TD., with Christensens kick good made the score 21-6 at the half time intermission. In the third quarter the Taft Tigers seemed to move the ball down field but the Buff defense would stiffen up when they got within the 25 yard line to hold them off.
