My father,
Pour down good thoughts;
There are things that I cannot change.
You always come first
To wherever there is wisdom, don't let us lose
our way.
TO THE WASCO STUDENTS...
I greatly enjoyed working with the summer youth work
ers during our Wasco Language classes.
At first they were not serious about trying to learn, but
something changed them within the next two weeks or
so. After they actually were able to have something in
front of them to read and practice, they settled down
and did a very good job. I was really proud of them and
even though they might not want to admit it, I think
they were able to take a little pride in themselves also.
If they would like to learn more, and we encourage them
to do so, we would greatly enjoy setting up a time for
them after school starts. We have a home based pro
gram and I also hope to set one up in my home. Again
students, you were most enjoyable and I pray that each
and every one of you do your best in school. Education
is not only important for yourselves but also for the
tribe as a whole, as you are our future leaders.
