Language Program Update:
KWSO radio station has followed the format
developed for the Newspaper and by doing a full
week of Sahpatin, a full week of Wasco, followed
with a full week of Sahaptin and a full week of
Paiute. This will cointinue to this to happen
throughout the 1998 year.
We are continuing with lessons that will are
being taught in the Kindergarten and community
classes. Continue to follow along with the lessons,
we look forward to a time our languages are used
on a daily basis within all our homes. It is impor
tant to keep working towards a' healthier commu
nity, and one of these ways is realizing your own
self identity.
Food for thought: Have you ever realized
traits within yourself that you were very proud of?
(for example: hardworking, loyal, brave, etc.) Did
you realize that the traits you have today are
stemmed from the cultural teaching your parents
grandparents have passed to you? These are the
cultural teaching that will help you survive in this
world, whether its' getting a job, raising your fam
ily, or practicing the religion of your choice. The
language you choose to learn will help in realizing
that you are important part of the tribe possessing
cultural skills that you or your family are be proud
of. Come join us...share...we'd love to have you.
