I would also like to thank the Lord for guiding me to victory and watching over my family while I am gone." Smith stated, "One of my friends said how old is your Dad and I answered 60. Then my friend stated just think you got 30 more years of this." When asked what was one of the keys to his success? Smith stated, "I think that my life style really helps my out in this event. I have always been around horses and some of the other competitors are only around horses when it is in a rodeo, but I am around them all the time, which, I think gives me a little edge over them." Smith added, "My advise to younger competitors get in shape and lead the right life. I have noticed that the guys who are in shape are the ones that who usually win.
