Based Children are the ones suffering To the editor, I am writing this letter to express my feelings to my children and grand children. First, I want to tell you how much I love and care for you and just how much pain and tears you are causing me. I cry tears everyday, missing my grandchildren. When you were babies, I put you first and took care of you the best way I could. When you couldn't care for your babies when they came along, I stepped in to do what I could to make sure they had someone to love, feed and care for them. My darling, beloved grandchildren. To my grandchildren, Grandma loves you very much and always will. No one can take that from me ever. To my children, I say maybe one day you will grow up enough to real ize just how much you've hurt me with your behavior. Life is too short. We only have each other. Make the most of each day. Don' t use your children as pawns to hurt me. They're the ones suffer ing. Keeping them from me is only depriving them of the love, hugs and affection I give them freely and al ways. Children are innocent. Their love is unconditional and they love for love's sake and because I'm their Gramma, they know they're loved by me. If you're angry at me then let's keep it between us andor work things out. But please let my grandchildren come see me when they want. I need to see them too. My lil angels. Mamma's and children are some thing special as Gramma's and Grandkids are a gift from heaven. I, myself pro vided my services in the kitchen and attended meetings and witnessed their strategies. Children of my family were included. They did not gain enough votes in the referendum but I learned later that the Tribal Council enrolled them. I don't know whether to thank Council or wonder why the costly referendum? Is this not the second time Coun cil has done this? All we heard at the meetings put on by the families dur ing the meetings and dinners were "What we will do IE we get en rolled". We were told that a gratitude dinner would follow. I offered my services again. I am still waiting to help you new enrollees. I have recently accepted a posi tion with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. My last day of work at the clinic is October !5th. I will miss everyone more than you can know.
