Nevada, August 5-10, to play on an
Oregon prep basketball team coached
by Robby Fink.
Frank will be playing with other
boys from the state of Oregon and
they will be playing teams from all
over the western states California,
Arizona, Kansas and Nevada. There
will be 100 teams participating.
Players were chosen by their
coaches and Fink. Most of the boys
play in an Oregon Prep Basketball
tournaments. The players need $500
to go which pays for meals and
traveling expenses. Anyone wanting
to donate money can contact Austin
Greene at the Community Center.
Eagle Spirits 6'0" & under All
Indian Basketball Tournament will
be April 4-6, at the Warm Springs

Museum plans
two golf tourneys
The Museum At Warm Springs is
planning two Benefit Golf Tourna
ments for 1997. The first one is Sat
urday, May 3, 1997 at Kahneeta Re
sort in Warm Springs. Hole-in-one
prizes include a new car sponsored
by Ron McDonald Chevrolet
Oldsmoble Pontiac Buick Inc. in
Madras.
Tee time is 9 a.m. with a shotgun
start. The entry fee is $45 per player
that includes green fees & lunch. The
deadline is May 2, 1997. It will be a
scramble format and teams or indi
viduals can sign-up and be paired
off.
All proceeds from the Benefit
Tournaments will go to the mainte
nance reserve fund for The Museum's
maintenance program. This will be
the first of two Benefit Tournaments
with the second one held Saturday

The Warm Springs Recreation
department is now holding Little
League Baseball & Softball, as well
as the local T-Ball team registration.
The sign up sheets will continue to
the end of March. Registration cost
is set at $20 per player in minors,,
major leagues and senior league for
boys' and girls'. The local T-Ball
will consist of eight team, ages 6-8,
will cost $15. per player. Additional
youth of the same household will
cost 10. each.
The following is the break down
of leagues based on age, as of August
1.
T-Ball Boys' and girls', ages 6-8,
eight local teams.
Minor league, boys' and girls',
ages 8-1 1, three girls' teams and two
boys' teams.
Major league, boys' and girls',
ages 9-12, three boys' and two girls'
teams.
Senior league, boys' and girls',
ages 13-15, one team each for boys'
and girls'.
Amount of the teams on those
youth registered by March 28, could
increase or decease by set date: so
please help out the Recreation
Department out by registering in time.
So the adequate teams are made
available.

Major boys' and girls' try outs
have been set for Monday and
Tuesday, April 7-8, with the Minor
boys' and girls' try outs set for
Wednesday and Thursday, April 9
10. The start time is scheduled for
4:30 p.m. at the Papoose field, and
the girls' Softball fields. Try outs are
for youth ages 8-12 in both genders
and leagues.
Senior Boys' try outs will be
announced at a later date.
All coaches will be meeting in
Culver on April 8. This goes for all
coaches in Jefferson County in Minor
and Majors. A separate meeting will
be announced on the Senior league
coaches meeting.
The major league jamboree has
been tentatively set for Saturday April
26, at the Madras Fairgrounds, this
will be for both girls' and boys' teams.
The first league games are set for
Monday April 28.
From the equipment manager,
Andy Leonard, any and all uniforms,
pants, socks that have not been
returned from last, we are asking that
the children please locate them and
return them so that players in this
years league have adequate supply of
uniforms to wear. THANKS.
