Huckleberry Harvest aids Museum
Museum supporters from far and near gathered at The Museum At
Warm Springs August 24 for the beginning the first-ever
Huckleberry Harvest. The event was held as a fund raiser for The
Museum. Guests were treated to Indian singing and dance
performances and were able to take a look at The Museum's private
artifact collection. About 100 Museum patrons paid $150 each to
dine on traditonally prepared salmon along the Deschutes River at
Ken and Jeanie Smith's home. A silent auction netted The Museum
over $4,500. Total donations were close to $20,000. Smith said he
hoped this would become an annual event for The Museum.
