Andy Leonard from theWS recreation
staff "There were running events and
field events according to age groups."
"Everyone received a ribbon and
all were winners today." Mills said.
Mills also added "Indian youths have
a great opportunity to make a change
around here by going to school and
getting involved in sports to share
tneir culture, strengths and heritage
with other nationalities." Mills stated
"the message I wanted to get across
to the youths was to explore their
minds also challenge the youth to
find their desires, to know them
selves and succeed." Mills stressed
more on the positive things in stead
of the negative things such as alco
hol and drugs because Mills felt it
were important for youths to feel
good about themselves
Mill has done many such events
in the past, but wants to stop and
just start working with adults on
grant writing skills and marketing,
with his wife.
While in Warm Springs Mills
toured the community and spoke
with tribal members.
