Tribal services survey mailed to members Tribal members 20 years of age and older, a total of 1,910, received the third Tribal Services Survey earlier this month. The survey asks for comments and suggestions on services offered to the community by the Confederated Tribes. Results of the survey will be compared to the 1994 Tribal Services Survey to measure the Tribe's progress. The results will be like a "report card" from tribal members. Responses are due by July 15. Surveys will be summarized by faculty members of the University of Oregon. If respondents sign their names, they will receive a copy of this year's ratings and become eligible for a CefeSrate graduation1. banquet and presentations June 20 Sfyency Longhouse 6 p.m. Community members, friends and famify invited Annual HeHe Spiritfest set The annual HeHe Spiritfest iwill be held July 5, 6 and 7. The threel'day event will focus on alcohol and drug awareness and encourages AA; NA, Al-Anon, Ala-Teen and ACOA participation. Friday's activities include a potluck dinner, an AA meeting and a modern dance. Saturday will begin with breakfast (on your own), 12-step recovery meetings, games and other activities, dinner at 5 p.m. followed by an Indian Night Out powwow. Sunday will feature a spiritual breakfast. For those not familiar with the Senior Citizens The Warm Springs Senior Citizen Program have been making plans for a trip to Albuquerque and an Alaskan Cruise in the month of August. Seniors going to Albuquerque have the opportunity to attend the National Indian Council on Aging and do some sightseeing and touring of the area. They will catch a flight from Portland August 28 and return September 1 . There will be four staff members traveling with Senior Citizens to Albuquerque. Seniors are welcome to sign up as an alternate for this trip, it is paid for. The Alaskan cruise has been coordinated by the Muckleshoot Senior Citizen Program and Warm Springs Senior Program was invited t t. Austin Greene barbecues hamburgers at the annual Healthy Nations Open House, June 11. There was enough burgers, melon, chips, etc. for 800 people. Warm Springs Reservation, HeHe is located 18 miles north of Warm Springs just off US Highway 26. Camping is available. RVs are welcome but there are no hookups available. Participants must bring cook stoves that meet fire regulations. Kah-Nee-Ta Resort also offers accommodations. For reservation at the Resort, call 553-1 1 12 or 1-800-554-4786. The Warm Springs Seniors will travel to Auburn to meet with Muckleshoot tribe. They will take a bus to Vancouver. From there they will board a cruise ship to and from Alaska. They will learn of the Alaskan culture while they are there. Lucille Schuster is traveling with 12 Senior Citizens on this trip. Schuster says the Seniors going with her to Alaska are excited about going. It will be a new experience for them and they look forward to it everyday. They have paid their deposit and will have their balance paid by August 20. Each Senior is paying $1 100 to $1300 each for this trip to Alaska.
