The awards banquets at Kah-Nee-Ta were discontinued, as the Tribes had to find ways of cut back on expenses and at the same time continue to show employees their gratitude. Employee's were awarded with gold cufflinks, tie tacs, necklaces, lockets, ID bracelet, money clips, rings, belt buckles, and combination knives. In 1983 through 1995 the awards were held at the Agency Longhouse in order to keep some of the costs down. In 1996 the Tribes decided to make it a department responsibility to award each employee.
