Early Childhood Education news-
Greetings from ECE! Hope ev
eryone is having a good start on sum
mer events especially getting those
vacation plans under way. We would
like to thank all parents who put so
much effort into making their child's
graduation a memorable event. We
are going to miss the grads, but it's
time to move on to bigger and better
things; good luck!
Thank all of you parents who con
tributed your valuable time to our
program throughout the school year.
You are the reason it was successful.
Parent Club had agreed to give gift
certificates to three parents who con
tributed the most time to their child's
class in Head Start. We'd like to
acknowledge the following dedicated
parent volunteers: RACHEL
SMITH- 216.5 HOURS Rachel
came in and helped out in so many
ways and just was very involved in
her daughter's class. For all her vol

childrens' class and at home she had
a child in the center base and she also

ber to talk to your child about the
upcoming transition. It will also be
helpful if you know your child has a
difficult time with change, to get
himher to school a little earlier so
you can stay with himher for a few
minutes or even longer to get used to
the new room and new teachers. You
can bring them in to visit even before
the transition actually takes place.
Some classes take the children to
visit the rooms they may be going in
to, but it won't hurt for the parents to
go with the child too, and let them
become familiar with new surround
ings. If parents have any questions
or concerns it would be a good idea
to speak with the teachers before the
child begins in the new room. It is
also a good time to get to know the
teachers better and share your ideas
and expectations forthe coming year.
