to have you join us. Special thanks to
our ECE Parent Club officers Sheilah
Wahnetah, Patsy Lenbek, and Shirelle
Thomas and parent, Paula Miller for
the extra time they put in planning
activities for the Week of the Young

. . To do it
over again
If I Had My Child To Raise
Over Again
If I had my child to raise all over
again,
I'd finger paint more, and point
the finger less.
I'd do less correcting, and more
connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch,
and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less, and
know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more
kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seri
ously play.
I'd run through more fields, and
gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging, and less
tugging.
I would be firm less often, and
affirm much more.
I'd build self-esteem first, and the
house later.
I'd teach less about the love of
power,
And more about the power of love.

To the editor,
I and my wife and the Iron Bears
would like to give special thanks to
all those who sponsored the WSCRIB
tourney. Your contributions are
greatly appreciated. Without you the
awards and refs could not have been
paid. You have also given our youth
and community an activity to partici
pate and enjoy in.
I also would like to thank the WS
Museum for the gifts and tour of the
Museum toward the Winnebago, NB
tribes team. The youth will long re
member our culture. A special thanks
to Chaz and Robin Mitchell for the
hospitality and Aunt Bernice Mitchell
for the entertainment of her great
story telling. Terry & Randy said
that they enjoyed your stories and all
the food that was prepared by Robin
and family. Thank you Ken-man and
Delson for letting the girls from Neb.
air on the KWSO. The girls enjoyed
it. Benny Heath, thank you for tour
ing the girls through the Administra
tion. And a special thanks to Roland &
Verleen Kalama for taking care of
the books & clock. Thank you al
ways for being there, love you brother
and sister-in-law, and the same for
my older sister Tina Aguilar, also
Sam Kentura.
In concession all the hard work of
my wife and Flora & Rachel Frank,
Barbie Jackson and Fred Holliday.
Robert & Ben Holliday my nephews
for staying after to help clean up the
gym when they didn't have to. You
guys are greatly appreciated. I would
like to thank the refs for helping pick
the Sportsmanship and taking a lot of
headaches. I feel also at this time
honored to tell you a little about
Terry Medina, a good friend of mine,
I met a few years ago. We always
talked basketball until we were in
vited into their country Winnebago,
NB. Their tribe put us up, room &
board, fed us as well and took us
through their departments. Also in
troduced us to their gaming. Their
Tribal Chairman said, they would
roll the red carpet out and that's ex
actly what was done. Our girls were
treated well and was also educated
by their introduction to their depart
ments. At that time we met Randy
Decora, one of the chaperones and
Janet Bass.
There's also a touching story from
one of the girls out of Winnebago,
she remembered how she was last
year, she was into gangs and now has
turned herself around. She said she
regretted how she treated one of our
girls and came to apologize and now
plays on the team of Winnebago. She
feels she never wants to go that route
again. I commend this young lady
and would like to say that I see alot of
talent and to get better is to let go of
the things you can not gain from.
And to gain, is practice hard for what
you want. Also another gal that will
be attending U of N and the humor
Joyce Bass brought was a pleasure to
have.
Thank you Winnebago Tribes
Team. Thank you to my brother
Mel vin and Ronnie for being there, it
would not be same without you two.
Thank you for your dedication to the
youth and tourneys you and your
teams and fam il ies put one. Our com
munity needs you. Thanks
Sincerely,
Foster & J'Dean Kalama
