Macy due to return home for visit Nineteen year old Alyssa Macy is attending the University of Wisconsin, in Milwaukee. She recently won the Wings of the Great Lakes race which was a 5k course held at the University of Minnesota in St Paul. That title now qualifies her for the Wings National race which is in conjunction with the USA Track and Field Nationals. Which will take place in Portland, Oregon on Sunday, December4. She will be representing the Great Lakes. This will by Alyssa's second race for the season due to injuries throughout the season. Disappointing season Buffs lose final two games The final two league football games were on the road for the Madras white Buffalos. On October 28, they traveled to Estacada to mcc the Rangers on their home field, and the trip was not quite as well as they would like to have ex pected. The Estacada Rangers out lasted the Buffalos to win the game 14-6, in a close game. The breaks went toward the Estacada team as they were able to contain the Buffalo Drives all evening. A couple of times the Buffalos were on the move when something would cause them to stall and give up the football. The game could have gone either way but just some bad breaks for the Buffs gave the win to Estacada. On the evening of Novcmbcr4, the Buffalos traveled to Galdstone and dropped the final game of the season on a disappointing 39-0 score. The first half the score was 7-0, but in the third quarter the Gladiators went on a scoring spree collecting 23 points in that quarter. They added 9 points in the final quarter ending a very disap pointing season for the Buffs who made their daoue in the Tri-Valley League. The win for the Gladiators of Gladstoncput them into a 3-3 in league play and 5-4 over all for the season. The loss for the Buffs put them in a 1 5 league standing and 2-7 overall. A lot of early injuries and a lack of depth in each postion were key factors for such a dissappointing season. Four games ui a row for the Madras White Buffalos were with teams rated in the top ten in the state this fall. They were The Dalles Indians, Central Pan thers of Monmouth, Sherwood Bow men, and thcLaSallc Falcons. Its pretty tough to win a game playing teams in that class. At times the Buffs held their own and looked pretty good to such a good team, but there was always some thing that went wrong and the opponcts would have a run away and build up the score. Now that the Buffalos gotten their feet wet in the new league perhaps next season may be a much better one. Madras High School Winter Sports Freshman Girls Basketball 1129 Tue.
