The Dalles Indians defeated the Buffaloes 4-2 to move on toward the Class 3A softball Championships which will be held at Wallace Marine Park in Salem, Oregon. The Dalles scored two runs in the third inning putting them ahead 2-0. In the fifth and sixth inning they scored one run in each to put them ahead 4-0. Coming into the bottom of the seventh the Buffaloes had one last chance to pull it off, but fell short as only two runs came in before the third out was made. Sophomore, Karissa Way of The Dalles struck out the Buffs seven times, to help her team to victory. Madras finished their season with fifteen wins and ten losses. They will lose four players to graduation, they are; Manda Ncilson who finished with a .379 batting average, Allison Kirsch;.347,JamieRask;348andJody Roff;.38I. The team is coached by Dick Soucrs with Kelli Doherty, Gary Burtis and Earl Cordcs as assistants. At the present time their record is not quite up to what it should be, but they have won their last two games in a row. They handed the Elks, one of their very few losses by the score of 9-7, and Tuesday night they beat Bright Sox 13 7. So they are on a roll at the present time.
