Ontario Tigers Bop Buffs 34-12 After a fairly decent two game winning streak the Madras White Buffaloes fall victims to the Ontario Tigers by the score of 34-1 2 on their home turf, October 8, 1993. It appeared to be a Ontario Tiger night as they chalked up 2 1 7 yards in the game. They came out and scored early in the opening quarter and shortly after they blocked a Madras punt and ran it in for the second score, this made the score 12-0, as their first extra point try was nogood. They went for two and completed a pass to go ahead 14-0, at the end of the first quarter. They scored in ev ery quarter during the game which must have been a long night for the Buffs. It wasn't until the final period when the Madras Buffs could get a score on the board as John Boyle ran in for the score. The try for two failed leaving them with 6 points. Later in the game a pass from quarter back Brunoe to Christensen was good for the score, however the try for extra point was no good as the kick was blocked. The final minutes ticked away to end the game with the Tigers winning the game which puts the Buffs with a 2 win 1 loss in league play. The next outing for the Buffs is Home coming on Friday night, Oc tober 15, 1993, as they host theNyssa Bulldogs, with game time at 7:30 p.m. If you can't make it to the game be sure to tune in on KWSO 9 1 .9 FM, on our radio dial as Ken Man will bring it live play by play, assisted by Ted Viramontc. "As I Sce's-Um," late in the game the Madras White Buffaloes were able to get on the score board after a scoreless first half of play. Late in the third quarter as the Pioneers were lined up to punt Chris Hugg ins broke through and blocked the punt and picked up the ball and ran it in on a 30 yard run to put the Buffaloes up 6-0. That really woke up the fans as the game was sort of boring at that point. Dodderer kicked the PAT and the score was Buffs 7 Mac Hi 0. Late in the fourth quarter the Buffs were able to get some more points on the score board as the defense really tightened up forcing the Pioneers to punt the ball. With a couple of short !;aincrs Izaak Esquiro broke loose or a real big gainer and also a un sportsmanship penalty added put the ball on the 10 yard line when Phillip Miller faded back and let the aerial go os Jason Thomas broke away from the defense just long enough to haul in the pass for the TD. The Kick failed but the Buffs were ahead 13-0. At the beginning of the game it was the question of which team would i;ct the breaks. For a while it was a ong night for both teams as neither team could get any kind of drive going. The game in the first two quarters were between the 30 yard markers, as each would get a first down or two and have to punt There were some good defensive plays by the Buff linemen who re peatedly had the Pioneer quarterback scrambling for his life. At one point the Pioneers were called for inten tionally grounding the ball. The win puts the Buffaloes on a two game winning streak in league play as they powered their way past Riverside a week earlier and this week the Mac Hi Pioneers. On October 8, the Buffs make their trek cast to meet their opponent the Ontario Tigers. Even though the Tigers have had their ups and downs they are not a team to overlook when it comes time to play them on their home turf. Last week they lost to the Vale Vikings, but don't let that fool anyone. A game is never in the bag until the final whistle or sound of the gun to end a game. After the bis swing east the Buffs will be home for their Home Com ing, against the Bulldogs of Nyssa. The game at Ontario will begin at 7:30 p.m. MST. r, i a- - f , t i . lit w w A J .
