First I would like to thank the
Tribal Council for being the back
bone of the cowdeo. Without them as
sponsors the event would not be pos
sible. We had much compliments from
the crowd on putting on an event for
our young children that does not cost
anything to participate and get paid
for being a part of the cowdeo.
This is the first year having a lot of
cowboys and cowgirls. Entered con
testants and exhibitions each day av
eraged 100 participants per day.
Since 1988 I have watched our
local youth start from beginners to
the Sr. age group. I have watched
them take their licking from peewee
calves to Jr. to Sr. and cows. There
are a few who get a taste of dirt but
most of them can ride with class and
style.
Within a five year period from
now our younger youth will be ready
to advance to other competition other
than our annual Huck Cowdeo. I have
witnessed one five year generation

Rodeo Association will be having a
bingo session Wednesday night, Au
gust 25, 1993, at the Agency Long
House. There is a "Winner
Everytime," and it could be you.
There are gift prizes for the kids, and
a grand time for all.
These binngo sessions will be
happening every other Wednesday
night at the Agency Lounghouse. As
they say, "Kot-Num Pahh." So for a
fun night out Hustle on down to the
longhouse and win something.
The Warm Springs Rodeo Asso
ciation is working on a big project
and need support from the Commu
nity members or anyone else who
likes to play Bingo.
Lady Travelers
end league play
The Lady Travelers of Warm
Springs ended their Softball league
play in Bend, Oregon. They placed
1st in league standings and won the
end of the season playoffs. The
competition was good, but that didn't
hold down the Lady Travelers. In
league standings they won 10 and
lost 4.
Those who participated were

Brisbois, Sandra Danzuka, Missy
David, Christcl Leonard, Laura
Sahme, Lana Shike, Jancll Smith,
Holly Spino, Julia Thompson, Lupc

Christcl Leonard was awarded
MVP while Sandra Danzuka and
Lana Shike gotall-stars for the league.

in the league tourney last weekend

The Jefferson County Men's
Slo-pitch league had their annual
tournament August 14-15 which
consisted of ten teams vying for
the championship title last week
end. It was a true double elimina
tion. League representative, Floyd
Paye felt it was good competition,
and not one team walked away
with the title.
The standings at completion of
the two day event were as follows;
Oscars Box 4-2, Macy's 3-2,
Brightsox 4-1, Warm Springs
(Spilyay) 2-2, Ericksons 1 -2, Ding
Ho 1-2, Dogs 0-2, Posse 0-2,
Ahcms 1-2 and Seaswirl 3-2.
The fourth place finisher was
Seaswirl who lost to Oscars 11
21. The third place finisher was
Oscars who lost to Brightsox 11
18. Macy's was the runner-up,
they went in to championship game
undefeated so Brightsox had to
play them twice. Macy's lost the
first game 0-1 2, and the second game
8-11. The top four teams were
awarded trophies and T-shirts.
The all-stars were presented to:
Brightsox- Scott Ellis, Stan Webb,
Mark Harris and Felix Patino.
Macy's- Donnie Bagley, Thomas
Adams and Virgil "Bird"
Windyboy. Oscars- Jerald
Winegar and Eugene Grame.
Seaswirl- Corey Brown. They
were each given T-shirts.
